Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Department of Higher Education ( Ministry of Education and Training ), said that this year, candidates will continue to register for university and college admissions online on the Ministry's system. The Ministry is trying to make adjustments to make the registration process easier for candidates and avoid errors. According to Mr. Hung, candidates have many wishes and universities have many admission methods, so when registering for admission, they need to directly find out information about admissions in 2025 on the official websites of the schools, avoiding unofficial sites that cause unfortunate mistakes.

In recent years, many candidates have declared their priority subjects and areas incorrectly when applying to the admission system, leading to them passing and failing and vice versa. Mr. Hung informed that the Ministry of Education and Training is considering abolishing early admission after many high schools and departments of education and training complained about the effects of early admission, causing 12th grade students to neglect their studies. Or the Ministry will have new regulations so that schools can enroll students with outstanding abilities early.

2025 is the first year that candidates graduate from high school according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program. Therefore, separate exams of university education institutions must also be adjusted accordingly.

The 2025 thinking assessment question bank will be reviewed and adjusted to ensure adherence to the 2018 education program. Questions containing knowledge not included in the new program will be eliminated.

Notes on the competency assessment test

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Testing Center, Hanoi National University, said that in addition to the original structure, this year's university capacity assessment test has some adjustments. The test structure consists of 3 parts: Mathematics and data processing (50 questions, 75 minutes); Language - Literature (50 questions, 60 minutes); Science (50 questions, 60 minutes). In terms of format, the 2025 test is adjusted mainly in the science section and the way questions are asked. After completing the first two parts, in the third part, candidates will be able to choose 3 out of 5 topics in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography to complete the test within 195 minutes. According to Mr. Thao, this year's university admission regulations have many adjustments. Candidates need to find out the admission information of the schools to know how they will use the results of the ability and thinking assessment tests, so that they can plan the best exam preparation and application.

Ho Chi Minh City National University also adjusted the competency assessment test to match the 2018 General Education Program. The test has 120 questions, including 30 Vietnamese questions, 30 English questions, 30 Math questions, and the remaining 30 questions to assess scientific thinking. Candidates do not necessarily have to choose a combination, all candidates can access the test.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that the 2025 thinking assessment test will maintain stability in structure, content and format. The most significant changes related to technology are to help candidates do better on the test and facilitate their university application. The knowledge in the 2006 program, if not present in the 2018 program, will also not appear in the thinking assessment test.
