On the afternoon of May 13, the Vietnamese women's futsal team lost 0-2 to Japan in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in China, missing the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup at the end of the year.

Speaking after the match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang could not hide his regret, but affirmed his pride in the brave fighting spirit of his students.

"Although we are sad that we could not win, the coaching staff is still proud that the players fought until the last seconds against a top team in the continent," he said.

"We appreciate the efforts of the entire team. You have given your best. Although the results were not favorable, we will aim for longer-term goals in the future. The coaching staff will definitely work again to further improve the team" - Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang added.

The head coach of the Vietnamese women's futsal team admitted that Japan is a very strong opponent with many quality players. Although there were times when the team controlled the match quite well, a few lack of concentration situations caused the Vietnamese women's futsal team to concede a goal.

He expressed: "I have some regrets about the two goals we conceded today. We did well at many times, but just a small mistake against an opponent like Japan will cost us."

Evaluating the journey of the Vietnamese women's futsal team at the tournament, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang shared: "Passing the group stage with 7 points and finishing first in the group is a very encouraging achievement. However, meeting Japan in the quarter-finals is a big challenge."

Immediately after the tournament, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will begin preparations for their next goal, which is to win the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of the year. "We will quickly return to training to have the best force for the upcoming tournament," he emphasized.
