Summary of Spacetime episode 6
The epidemic broke out and spread, in the military barracks there were 4 soldiers infected with acute diarrhea. Lieutenant Colonel Dai could not hide his anxiety: "I did not anticipate everything, from medicine, supplies to human resources. The medical staff are working at full capacity, the soldiers do not have a single minute to rest."
At that moment, the military doctor called to inform that he had found a herbal medicine to cure the disease. Lieutenant Colonel Dai immediately directed people to go find it. Lieutenant Colonel Dai briefed on the mission, emphasizing the regulations that must be followed:
"These are popular leaves used in folk medicine to treat diarrhea. They are available in forests, hills and around people's houses. Diarrhea can spread quickly and become an epidemic. When picking leaves, we will combine this with propaganda to encourage people to eat cooked food, drink boiled water, and keep their homes clean. If picking leaves around people's houses, we must ask for permission to avoid causing trouble and affecting people."
While everyone was seriously doing their duty, Linh (Bui Thac Phong) pretended to have a stomachache and hid behind a tree to sit and relax. Lieutenant Ha Mien (Bich Ngoc) worriedly went looking for him and found Linh sitting behind a bush. He explained: "I'm having diarrhea, you stay outside, don't come in."
When Linh came out, Mien gave him the medicinal leaves: "Be patient, chew and swallow a little of the juice." Even though he wasn't sick, Linh had lied so he reluctantly ate the perilla leaves that Mien gave him.
While inspecting the area, Dai heard a little girl crying at the top of the hill. Upon asking, he learned that her younger brother was lying unconscious in the house. Without hesitation, Dai picked the boy up on his shoulders and quickly took him to the military medical station.
On the way, he and his two younger siblings had to cross a fast-flowing stream. With one arm holding the younger boy on his shoulder and the other holding the older sister, he struggled to cross. When they reached a slippery hill, Dai had to leave the older girl behind, promising to send someone to pick her up so that she could bring her younger brother back for treatment.
Linh not only skipped work but also showed indifference when Mien asked him to eat more guava leaves: "Eat a lot, will it help?" Still believing that Linh really had a stomachache, Mien even carried his backpack for him. Linh felt guilty and said: "Let me carry it for you." But Mien refused.
Linh, after receiving Mien's care and attention, eagerly went to find ginger and brought it back to report to Mien and waited for her praise. But Linh could not distinguish which ginger was which so he found the wrong one. She reminded him: "If you don't accept the task, then don't accept it. If you do, you have to do it properly."
Linh retorted: "Ginger or whatever has nothing to do with me." Mien replied: "But it does concern a lot of people, Mr. Linh." Linh continued to show his attitude: "There are a lot of people sitting around doing nothing, why should I pick these leaves?"
Mien was strict: "The unit is large but each person has a task. Some people stay at the battalion infirmary to help people, some go to deal with the aftermath of the flood, no one sits around doing nothing."
Linh was upset: "I know! It's better to have a stomachache like Huy, I don't know if it really hurts or not."
Mien coldly said: "Do you think everyone is like you? In this field, can you live for everyone?"
On the way to take the boy to the military medical station, Dai met Mien and Linh. Mien did a preliminary examination and discovered that the boy had a high fever and was severely dehydrated. Seeing Dai's injured leg, Mien wanted to give him first aid, but he refused: "No need, you two go pick up the girl who is waiting behind."
When they arrived, the girl was too tired to walk on her own. Linh reluctantly tried to carry her, but his indifferent attitude made Mien uneasy. She decided to carry the girl herself to the military medical station.
After all, will Linh realize his selfishness and change? Watch episode 7 of "Space of Time" airing on the evening of December 9 on VTV1.
Timeless is a special film project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day. The film will be broadcast during the "prime time" of Vietnamese films on VTV1, from 9pm every Monday to Friday, starting from November 25.
The film tells the story of Lieutenant Colonel Le Nguyen Dai, played by actor Manh Truong. Dai is a peacetime soldier who, along with his comrades, carries within them a deep love for the country, courage and sense of responsibility. They do not hesitate to face danger, ready to sacrifice to protect the peaceful lives of the people from natural disasters and epidemics.
These soldiers have both a compassionate heart, always sharing and sympathizing with the difficulties of their compatriots, and are also resourceful and decisive when facing sophisticated enemies. These people take advantage of the people's trust to spread propaganda against the Party and State's policies.
Timeless exploits the story of Uncle Ho's soldiers, with two distinct parts: "war" and " peace ". The past part depicts the fighting life of the fathers' generation in the war to defend the country. That life was both heroic, but also full of tragedy due to the losses caused by war.
In the present, the film is inspired by the silent contributions of peacetime soldiers, who grew up in peace and were willing to sacrifice their personal happiness for the sacred word "people". The past and present stories are interwoven in the film, helping to clearly portray the portrait of soldiers in each period. At the same time, the connection between the past and the present also creates a reflection, showing the continuation of the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", "by the people, for the people".
The film not only recreates the values of soldiers in war, but also honors the silent sacrifices of the generation of soldiers in peacetime, who always protect the safety and happiness of the people.
