(QBĐT) - On July 20, information from the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that the unit has just agreed with the People's Committee of Quang Binh province to cancel the groundbreaking ceremony of the project (DA) to expand the aircraft parking lot - Dong Hoi Airport.

This is component project 2 of the project "Construction of Passenger Terminal T2 and expansion of aircraft parking lot - Dong Hoi Airport".
According to the plan, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dong Hoi Airport apron expansion project was scheduled to be held on the morning of July 22. However, due to special reasons, ACV and the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee agreed to cancel the groundbreaking ceremony. ACV will proactively implement the construction to ensure the plan and progress set out.
All estimated costs for the groundbreaking ceremony will be transferred to the Quang Binh Province Scholarship Fund to support local students.
On September 14, 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the investment policy and approving ACV investor to implement the project "Construction of passenger terminal T2 and expansion of aircraft parking lot - Dong Hoi Airport, Quang Binh Province". The project consists of 2 component projects, implemented on an area of over 15 hectares, with a total investment capital of VND 1,844 billion (100% capital of ACV).
In which, Component 1 of the project will build a new T2 Passenger Terminal with the aim of increasing the operating capacity to 3 million passengers/year, completed and put into use in the first quarter of 2026.
Component 2 of the aircraft parking expansion project will build 4 new aircraft parking positions, increasing the total number of parking positions to 8; construction will begin in July 2024 and be completed and put into use in the first quarter of 2025.
