Functional sector takes samples to monitor water sources
In the province, there are 157 production and business establishments belonging to 14/17 types with high risk of causing environmental pollution, according to Appendix II of Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP and Decree No. 05/2025/ND-CP of the Government . These are types that are required to implement strict environmental management measures, due to the nature of production that easily generates solid waste, wastewater and toxic emissions.
For wastewater from enterprises with large volumes of wastewater discharged into the environment, automatic and continuous wastewater monitoring stations are installed and data is transmitted to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for monitoring and supervision.
In addition, in the province, there are 9 units in industries with a risk of causing pollution that must install automatic and continuous dust and emission monitoring stations. Currently, most units have installed and transmitted data to the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, most enterprises operate wastewater and exhaust gas treatment systems well. The quality of waste after treatment mostly meets national technical standards. However, there are still times when enterprises discharge waste exceeding the permitted threshold. When detecting violations through monitoring data, the Department will immediately send a warning letter and request the enterprise to correct the situation according to regulations.
In addition, recently, the province has paid great attention to the inspection of units at risk of causing environmental pollution, especially textile, dyeing, electroplating, and waste recycling and treatment units in the province.
For example, in 2024, inspections were conducted on 70 organizations and 1 individual, and 44 organizations and 1 individual were found to have violated the law; thereby, 44 decisions on administrative sanctions were issued with a total fine of more than 4.9 billion VND./.
