Recently, the illegal transportation and trade of poultry (GC) and GC products across the border into Vietnam has been quite common and complicated.
Therefore, the Prime Minister has just issued Official Dispatch No. 426/CD-TTg dated May 18, 2023 on the implementation of the prevention, detection and strict handling of violations. The content of the Official Dispatch requires the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province and city to proactively direct and drastically implement urgent solutions to prevent, detect and strictly handle cases of illegal transportation of GC, GC products, etc.
In Binh Thuan , to implement the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch 426, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai has just sent an urgent dispatch to relevant departments, agencies and localities in the province. In particular, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is required to urgently and synchronously implement solutions to control, prevent and combat avian influenza. Direct the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to strengthen monitoring and early detection of avian influenza outbreaks for handling, not allowing the disease to spread widely. Implement a plan to collect samples for surveillance of avian influenza with signs of illness or suspected avian influenza in high-risk areas. On the other hand, strictly control the transportation and trade of avian influenza and avian influenza products in the area. Coordinate to strictly handle violations against organizations and individuals transporting poultry and avian influenza products of unknown origin without quarantine certificates as prescribed.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, this is a necessary and urgent task to proactively prevent the risk of GC flu virus strains and many other dangerous infectious diseases from entering through illegal transportation of GC and smuggled GC products into the province, seriously affecting the province's GC livestock industry and people's health.
