Inspecting the implementation of social security policies and preparations for Tet in Huong Hoa and Dakrong areas

Today, January 30, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and leaders of departments and branches inspected the implementation of social security policies and preparations for the traditional New Year in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts.

In preparation for the traditional New Year, Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts have developed many plans and directed functional units to strengthen patrolling, inspection, control, and ensure security, order, and food safety and hygiene. In addition, measures must be taken to ensure the balance between supply and demand of goods and stabilize the market; strengthen the fight against counterfeit, banned, and poor-quality goods, especially food, provisions, cakes, jams, candies, beer, alcohol, cigarettes, and dangerous children's toys; and ensure electricity supply and communication security during the Giap Thin Lunar New Year.

The work of caring for the material and spiritual life of policy beneficiaries, the poor, and people in especially difficult circumstances has received special attention from local Party committees and authorities. As of January 29, 2024, the two mountainous districts of Huong Hoa and Dakrong, through various channels, have received and presented 16,548 gifts to policy beneficiaries, the poor, and people in especially difficult circumstances, with a total value of more than 6.6 billion VND.

Of which, Huong Hoa district has 12,660 gifts, worth nearly 4.8 billion VND, Dakrong district has 3,888 gifts, worth more than 1.8 billion VND. In 2024, the two localities have implemented the payment of policies to the beneficiaries through bank accounts, completing 100% of the plan. In addition, the provincial border guard force has organized the program "Spring on the border, warm the hearts of the villagers"; many organizations and individuals have organized the giving of Tet gifts, contributing to bringing spring to the villages in the mountainous areas.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam highly appreciated the preparations for the traditional Tet holiday of the two localities, especially focusing on social security work, timely support for policy beneficiaries, the poor, and people in especially difficult circumstances. At the same time, he requested localities to continue reviewing and ensuring that social security activities are carried out fairly, without omission, especially not allowing any family or person to go hungry or have a meal during the Tet holidays.

In addition, actively visit, encourage, and share spiritually with the subjects during the traditional New Year holidays. Focus on ensuring security, order, and social safety, helping people enjoy the New Year, welcome spring safely, economically, healthily, and happily.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam visited and presented gifts to 10 disadvantaged households in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts, each gift worth 800,000 VND.
