Welcoming more than 100 overseas Vietnamese from all over the world to return and attend the program, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien shared: "With a passionate love for the mother tongue, national pride and a desire to stay connected to their roots, our overseas Vietnamese have been constantly striving so that each generation of Vietnamese people around the world feels close to their homeland's culture and roots. The presence of teachers is a living proof of the unceasing spread of that Vietnamese language flow."

The program honors and awards overseas Vietnamese with outstanding achievements in the contest to find "Vietnamese Ambassadors Abroad" in 2025. These are individuals who demonstrate solid Vietnamese language skills, have inspiring stories about love for the Vietnamese language, love for their homeland and country, and have made many practical contributions to honoring and spreading the Vietnamese language abroad.

In particular, this year's program is held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2nd. This is also an opportunity for our compatriots across the five continents to further connect with their homeland, together express their steadfast love and affirm that the overseas Vietnamese community will forever be an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people, a valuable resource contributing to the prosperous development of our country.

Sharing on the topic “The river flows forever, connecting all directions,” Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien said that the Vietnamese language is like a river, attached to every Vietnamese person; originating from the lullabies of parents and grandparents, from familiar folk songs and proverbs, then gradually permeating the soul through poems, songs, and history lessons, constantly cultivating love for the homeland and country; spreading with Vietnamese children to all corners of the world. And even though the river flows out to the ocean, it still carries the sweetness of the homeland, just like the Vietnamese language, no matter where it resonates, it still retains the soul of the nation.

Vietnamese people all over the world, no matter where they go, still turn to their homeland - like salmon returning to their river of roots - to continue life and pass on their origins.

Referring to the closing passage of the poem “Remembering the River of the Homeland” by poet Te Hanh, the Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese hoped that overseas Vietnamese would always keep in their hearts a sacred love for their country, preserve and cherish the Vietnamese language as they would preserve the source of their souls, so that the river of Vietnamese language will forever flow through generations of Vietnamese people around the world, nurturing souls, connecting hearts and spreading love together.
