On the morning of May 19, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City offered incense at the memorial site for heroic martyrs, burned incense to pay respect to Uncle Ho and participated in the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
Within the framework of the ceremony, the delegation of overseas Vietnamese and their relatives planted 30 rosewood trees at Lang Le - Bau Co relic site, Tan Nhut commune, Binh Chanh district.

Mr. Le Van Thu, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, said that every year in May, people from all over Vietnam and friends from all over the world enthusiastically celebrate Uncle Ho's birthday. This is also an opportunity for the overseas Vietnamese community to learn and follow Uncle Ho's moral example and style.
Mr. Thu affirmed that "Tree Planting Festival" is a great lesson that Uncle Ho left for the next generation about how to live close to nature, protect environmental resources, develop sustainably, industrialize and modernize the country but must always keep the green color of trees and grass, for the quality of life of the people.
Implementing the "Tree Planting Festival" initiated by Uncle Ho, for many years, Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country have responded and participated in planting trees, afforesting, protecting and developing forests.

Responding to the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City leaders, in 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese organized the planting of 600 white starfruit trees in the Can Gio District Mangrove Biosphere Reserve. At the same time, 200 rosewood trees were planted at the City's Ethnic Cultural Historical Park in 2023.
The leaders of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the solidarity and joint efforts of the overseas Vietnamese community who participated in planting trees and responded to the "Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho".
Through that, Mr. Thu also called on all overseas Vietnamese, those working in overseas Vietnamese affairs, and civil servants of the City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to actively participate in making an impact, not only stopping at planting trees but also taking care of and protecting them so that the trees grow healthily, bringing long-term benefits.
