Continuing the 6th session, on November 20, the National Assembly entered the 2nd session of the session. Accordingly, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the results of supervising the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 5th session, 15th National Assembly ; discussed a number of important tax policies.
In the morning session, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly. According to the Report on the results of monitoring the settlement and response to voters' petitions sent to the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly: through the meetings with voters of National Assembly deputies, 2,765 petitions were compiled and sent to competent agencies for settlement.
Voters' petitions relate to most areas of social life, in which some areas continue to receive much attention from voters, such as: Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Health; Transportation; Education and Training; Natural Resources and Environment. To date, 2,751 petitions have been resolved and responded to by voters, reaching 99.5%.
Of which, the National Assembly, agencies of the National Assembly, and agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee have responded to 69/69 petitions. The Government, ministries, and central branches have resolved and responded to 2,591/2,605 petitions. The Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuracy have resolved and responded to 61/61 petitions.
Through discussion, delegates acknowledged and highly appreciated the responsibility and efforts of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee in preparing a detailed and clear report with specific and convincing contents, data and evidence, proposing recommendations and solutions that are close to the functions and tasks of each level and each sector. Delegates also highly appreciated the results of responding to and resolving petitions from voters, the Government, and a number of ministries and sectors. Many opinions were resolved and responded to promptly, ensuring timeliness and meeting the expectations of the people.
In addition, delegates suggested that the Government take measures to review recommendations and respond to issues that have been, are being, and will be resolved to respond and have a specific implementation roadmap.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly discussed the draft Resolution on "Applying additional corporate income tax according to regulations against global tax base erosion". Through discussion, delegates highly agreed on the need to soon issue a resolution under the simplified procedure at a session on applying additional corporate income tax according to regulations against global tax base erosion. At the same time, delegates also suggested that there must be parallel preferential investment policies to retain investors and continue to attract investment.
Delegates suggested carefully assessing the impact to make appropriate regulations in the resolution and have solutions to ensure the investment environment; suggested reviewing and re-evaluating incentive policies to comprehensively amend related regulations to suit the new situation, taking into account incentives for Vietnamese corporations and enterprises.
During the day, the National Assembly discussed the Government's Proposal on reducing value added tax.
