Record number of athletes participating in pickleball tournament in Ho Chi Minh City

Pickleball is growing very fast in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a promising start in a series of 5 professional events under the D-Joy Tour system with a total prize value of up to 1.5 billion VND . The opening stage attracted more than 500 registrations, including nearly 50 international athletes from 15 countries such as the US, UK, France, Korea, New Zealand, India, the Netherlands, Australia, the Philippines and Hong Kong (China). The scale of the tournament sets a new record for pickleball in Vietnam.

More than 626 matches were played continuously in 3 levels: Intermediate, Advanced and Pro, divided by age and gender. A total of 40 sets of medals were awarded to outstanding athletes in various singles and doubles events.

The tournament brought together many world- class stars such as Megan Fudge, Sofia Sewing, Ryler DeHeart, Armaan Bhatia, Sarah Burr, along with outstanding Vietnamese athletes such as Phuc Huynh, Sophia Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi, Do Minh Quan, Ly Hoang Nam and Trinh Linh Giang. The matches brought a dramatic atmosphere, high professional quality and emotional competition.

In addition to the prize money and gifts from sponsors, athletes also accumulate DRP points (D-JOY Ranking Points) to aim for D-JOY Vietnam Master Final, the top tournament with prizes up to 2 billion VND . The organizing committee awarded prizes to athletes with high achievements in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles at the end of each competition day, recognizing outstanding achievements.

Pickleball D-Joy Tour 2025 - Stage 1 not only marks the strong development of pickleball in Vietnam but also opens up a professional international playground, contributing to enhancing the position of domestic sports .
