World Standards Day Message
Sustainable Development Goal 17 - Partnership for the Goals
A shared vision for a better world: Focus on Goal 17 - Partnership for the goals
International standards are the foundation of global cooperation, ensuring compatibility, strengthening trust and promoting multilateral cooperation to promote sustainable development.
This year, World Standards Day will explore how standards provide a common framework, enabling meaningful collaboration between industry, governments and organizations to achieve common goals.
The campaign will highlight concrete examples that demonstrate the power of partnerships and the impact of working together through standards.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – to tackle social inequalities, promote sustainable economic growth and slow climate change – are ambitious. Achieving them will require the cooperation of a wide range of public and private partners, and the use of all available tools, including international standards and conformity assessment.
The fierce fight against the persistent global pandemic has shown the absolute necessity of implementing the SDGs in a comprehensive manner, to strengthen societies, making them more resilient and equitable.
The entire standards system is built on the spirit of partnership. It is a testament to the power of unity and the belief that we are stronger when we act together. By working together, we are empowering people with practical solutions to tackle sustainability challenges head-on. It is in this spirit that World Standards Day aims to highlight the role of international standards in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We unite and act together to promote the 2030 Agenda, with its SDG-oriented standards and “Shared Vision for a Better World”./.
