Cargo trucks are congested at the Moc Bai International Border Gate control area.
With such a strategic location, in recent years, Tay Ninh province has been interested in calling for many infrastructure investment projects at Moc Bai International Border Gate. In 2023, Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company (under Tan Cang Saigon Corporation) started construction of Tan Cang Moc Bai Dry Port with a total area of over 16 hectares, located in Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, in Ben Cau commune. The project is invested in construction including a container yard, CFS warehouse, control, parking and storage,... with modern equipment: 3 RTG 6+1 cranes, 5 forklifts/empty trucks, 50 tractors, 50 trailers,...
On July 9, 2025, Tan Cang Moc Bai Dry Port officially opened to traffic. However, according to the Tan Cang Moc Bai Dry Port management unit, after more than 2 months of operation, many cargo vehicles are still parked in the CK area waiting for customs clearance procedures, causing local traffic congestion at the CK.
According to a container truck driver waiting for import and export procedures at Moc Bai Border Control Station, each time goods are transported through Bavet Border Control Station (Cambodia), the vehicles move into the waiting area near Vietnam's border marker No. 171 to wait for customs procedures at Moc Bai International Border Control Station. While previously, this only took more than 10 minutes, now it takes about 30 minutes.
Sitting in the cabin waiting to do customs procedures at Moc Bai International Border Gate, driver TH said that normally customs procedures are relatively quick, but because the goods control work is still prolonged, especially from 8am to 11am, the number of vehicles transporting goods through Bavet Border Gate is quite crowded in the waiting area for customs clearance procedures.
On average, every day at Moc Bai International Border Gate, there are thousands of container trucks and trucks carrying out import and export procedures. Meanwhile, the vehicle staging area waiting for procedures is quite small, so it can only meet a part of the number of vehicles that need to carry out procedures every day. In addition, currently, the customs control area only has one entry channel, leading to congestion of container trucks. This situation makes it difficult for vehicles and passengers to carry out exit and entry procedures at the border gate.
According to Deputy Director of Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company Nguyen Chi Kien, the authorities at the CK Management Center need to organize the flow of vehicles entering the cargo control area, Moc Bai dry port, then carry out customs procedures to reduce traffic congestion./.
