Operations at Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port
Every day, the Moc Bai International Border Gate sees approximately 800 container trucks exporting and importing goods to and from the Kingdom of Cambodia. Previously, the border gate only had two parking areas for physical inspection of goods and customs procedures, so during peak periods, the large volume of exported and imported goods caused localized congestion of container trucks.
Since the Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port became operational and was licensed by the authorities for the physical inspection of export and import goods, this activity at the border gate has become much more convenient. The competent authorities have implemented a system for directing vehicles carrying export and import goods. Export vehicles then undergo physical inspection at the two previously designated staging areas. Import vehicles arriving from Cambodia undergo physical inspection according to customs procedures at the container yard of the Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port. This system has fundamentally resolved the localized traffic congestion that existed before.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tai Tai, Deputy Director of Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company, stated that the company operates on three main pillars: logistics operations; cross-border trade in goods; and inland port operations at Moc Bai International Border Gate.
Recently, on October 20, 2025, the Ministry of Construction issued Decision No. 1810/QD-BXD announcing the opening of Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port. Once officially operational, Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port will serve as a transshipment point for cross-border goods between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Tan Cang - Moc Bai Company has signed contracts for empty container handling with two large shipping lines. When logistics operations are officially implemented, this will facilitate a smoother flow of goods. Customers from the Kingdom of Cambodia can pick up empty containers at the inland port, transport them to receive goods, and then transport them back to the inland port for import procedures into Vietnam. Businesses in Vietnam can use vehicles to pick up containers at the inland port and transport them back to Vietnam. This will shorten the time for exporting and importing goods, save costs, and increase convenience for all parties involved.
