People do morning exercises at To Quyen Square, Tan Ninh Ward
Spread the movement of physical exercise and sports
Every morning, in parks and squares in the province, there are many people of many age groups doing sports. Depending on their interests, age, and health conditions, each person chooses a sport to practice. Young people and middle-aged people choose to walk, jog, play badminton, and play soccer. The elderly practice aerobics, dance sports, etc.
Mr. Pham Van Hoa (residing in Tan Ninh ward) said that for nearly 15 years now, every morning at 4:30 am he wakes up, does his personal hygiene, changes into sportswear, puts on his shoes, and rides his motorbike to the park or square to exercise. There, there are many old men and women with the same passion, ready to exercise.
When the music from the portable speakers started, the elderly gathered at To Quyen Square and started waving their arms and walking to the music. After nearly an hour of practice, everyone’s face was rosy and covered in sweat. After a short break, the elderly invited each other to the restaurant for breakfast, to enjoy coffee, chat, and share about family finances and raising children.
“I am now almost 66 years old. I used to suffer from some bone and joint diseases, high blood pressure, and had a slow and heavy gait. Since I started exercising, I feel much healthier, younger, and more active than before,” said Mr. Hoa.

In recent years, in parks, public places, and the yards of the Cultural, Sports and Community Learning Centers of communes and wards, more outdoor sports equipment has been installed, giving people more options to exercise.
Those who have the financial means or are good at a certain sport invest in equipment and go to training centers and clubs with higher expertise and techniques. Those who know how to swim go to diving clubs to freely splash around in the blue water. Those who love speed go to cycling groups; those who love heights and thrills sign up for paragliding and kite flying groups.
Similarly, fans of football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, tennis, and martial arts all go to places that organize these sports to try their hand.

People invest in badminton courts and host badminton tournaments to meet the needs of mass sports in Binh Minh ward.
Not only in places with adequate facilities such as urban areas, the movement of physical exercise is maintained, but in rural and border communes, the masses still voluntarily exercise and improve their health.
Many people who practice sports later become coaches, passing on their passion to the younger generation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai is an example. Ms. Mai has been passionate about Karatedo since her teenage years, and now she is a physical education teacher at a secondary school in Hao Duoc commune, Tay Ninh province. Ms. Mai is also a coach for several local Karatedo classes to pass on her passion for martial arts to the children.

Civil servants, public employees and workers participate in sports activities
This female coach said that local authorities and leaders of schools, Cultural, Sports and Community Learning Centers always accompany and create favorable conditions such as free playground space, free electricity for lighting and rewards for martial arts students with high achievements in martial arts tournaments to encourage and develop the movement.
The female coach herself also charges moderate tuition fees or free tuition for some martial arts students with difficult circumstances. “I only charge an average tuition fee, about 70-80 thousand VND/month. During the training process, if any martial arts student has a difficult situation, I will give it to them for free. When they reach the belt level, if martial arts students with difficult circumstances want to continue studying, I will still let them study without charging tuition fees,” said Ms. Mai.

Teenagers compete in athletics
Develop new types of sports
In addition to popular, traditional sports such as football, volleyball, badminton, swimming, jogging, Tay Ninh province is currently developing more recreational and adventure sports such as pickleball, volleyball, sports dancing, paragliding - kite flying, mountain climbing; attracting many people and participants.
Pickleball appeared in Tay Ninh around the beginning of 2023. Many athletes, coaches of other sports and some physical education teachers gradually became familiar with this new sport. To meet the training needs, in recent years, many individuals and businesses have built or converted badminton and tennis courts into pickleball courts.

Responding to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", in recent times, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has increased the organization of sports competitions and sports festivals for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers; family sports competitions for spouses and children to participate, in order to unite members.

Pickleball, one of the new sports, attracts many people and many participants.
The Department also enhances the exploitation and effective use of existing sports facilities and equipment, creating favorable conditions to meet the training and competition needs of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and soldiers of the armed forces. The number of sports tournaments at all levels organized exceeds the target, with increasingly better scale and quality, creating a playground for entertainment, improving health for the people and also a premise for the development of high-performance sports in the province./.
