Xuan Mai Commune: Nearly 1,000 people participated in the 1st Sports Festival

On the morning of October 26, Xuan Mai commune opened the first Sports Festival in 2025, with the participation of nearly 1,000 people.

Opening the Congress, Vice Chairman of Xuan Mai Commune People's Committee Chu Van Khang emphasized that the first Sports and Physical Education Congress is an opportunity to celebrate the movement "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh," contributing to building a healthy, united, and civilized community. This is also an opportunity to select outstanding athletes to represent Xuan Mai Commune at the 11th Hanoi Sports and Physical Education Congress in 2025.

The first Xuan Mai Commune Sports Festival was focused on from the very beginning of the implementation of the two-tiered government model. To date, the commune has organized nearly 20 sports competitions at various sectors, units, and grassroots levels, attracting nearly 1,000 athletes to participate and compete in 8 sports in the program of the first Xuan Mai Commune Sports Festival - 2025.

Currently, the mass sports and physical education movement in the commune is developing strongly, with over 34% of the people participating in regular training. Many volleyball, badminton, and martial arts clubs are operating effectively, contributing to enriching the cultural and spiritual life and improving the health of the people.

The festive atmosphere was vibrant and colorful, with a ceremonial procession including the national flag, a palanquin carrying a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh , the Congress flag, and a contingent of red banners leading the parade. Following these were 15 contingents showcasing their strength, representing various sectors, professions, armed forces, athletes, referees, and three mass performance groups led by 200 elderly members.

The opening ceremony began with a mass performance of gymnastics and martial arts, including lion and dragon dances by the Tuong Nghia Duong Club, featuring performances such as "Xuan Mai Battle Flag on the Day of the Congress," "Battle Drums of the Nation," and "Two Dragons Breaking the Formation." These elaborate and spirited performances ignited the sporting spirit and pride of the people of Xuan Mai on this grand occasion.

At the conclusion of the Congress, the Organizing Committee presented commemorative flags and awards to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in organizing and participating in the competition. The Congress truly became a grand event, spreading the spirit of solidarity and physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to the comprehensive and sustainable development of Xuan Mai.
