Tay Ninh: Practicing fire fighting and rescue plans at a gas station

On October 24, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH), Tay Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with the Branch of Saigon Petroleum Joint Stock Company in Tay Ninh Province to organize training on fire prevention and fighting and rescue for the grassroots fire prevention and rescue team; practice fire fighting and rescue plans at petrol station No. 6 (Thanh Binh commune, Tay Ninh province).

The scenario involves a fuel tanker being refueled at a gas station when static electricity causes a fire; the flames engulf part of the store, producing a lot of smoke and toxic fumes; two people are trapped in the fire.

Upon discovering the fire, the fire fighting and rescue team at Petrol Station No. 6 quickly raised the alarm, pressed the fire alarm button, and cut off the power; guided people to safety and rescued victims; moved property and flammable materials from the fire area to create distance and prevent the fire from spreading; and simultaneously called the Fire and Rescue Police force at 114 and reported the fire to the local police force.

The on-site fire fighting and rescue team also quickly used portable fire extinguishers to put out the fire, prevent it from spreading, and coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Police force to extinguish the fire.

For the Fire and Rescue Police Force (Team 14), after receiving the fire alarm, they quickly raised the alert, dispatched 2 fire trucks, 1 troop transport vehicle, and 16 officers and soldiers to the scene, approached the fire location (the simulated scenario for the drill), formed a fire reconnaissance team, organized the rescue of victims to safety, and deployed firefighting formations appropriate to the nature, characteristics, and development of the fire.

With close coordination and cooperation, the fire fighting and rescue drill at the gas station was conducted according to the set scenario, ensuring absolute safety for people, vehicles, and property participating in the drill.

Earlier that morning, the Tan Bien area Fire and Rescue Team organized a training course on fire prevention and rescue for the local fire and rescue teams in 2025, with the participation of business owners and staff from gas stations in the unit's management area.

The organization held a debriefing session after the fire fighting, rescue, and emergency response drill at the gas station.

Based on an analysis of the major causes of fires and explosions at gas stations, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police have provided guidance on handling situations when fires and explosions occur; integrated the dissemination of legal knowledge on fire prevention and control; and simultaneously practiced the operation of hoses, nozzles, and other firefighting equipment to meet the "four on-the-spot" requirements when a fire or explosion occurs.
