Livelihoods improved through livelihood support

In recent years, the work of sustainable poverty reduction in Tan Tap commune, Tay Ninh province has always been implemented synchronously, aiming at the goal of creating long-term livelihoods for people. One of the typical examples of escaping poverty thanks to livelihood support is the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Giang (born in 1951), with 2 members and difficult circumstances.

Mr. Nguyen Van Giang's family was happy to receive support for breeding cows to improve their lives.

Due to his advanced age and limited ability to work, Mr. Giang is receiving social pension benefits. His wife is also eligible for monthly social benefits. Although housing is stable, the unstable income often causes the family to lack food. In 2024, his family was supported with a breeding cow from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction to raise and increase income.

Receiving support, Mr. Giang's family actively took care of the cow, proactively learning techniques from veterinarians and experiences from neighbors. The cow grew healthily, opening up a more stable direction for the family economy . Thanks to income from livestock farming and efforts to overcome difficulties, in 2025, Mr. Giang's family officially escaped the near-poor household status.

Sharing his joy, Mr. Giang emotionally said: “Thanks to the local government's support for livelihoods, my family has been able to improve our lives. I will try to take good care of the cow and continue to strive to stabilize the economy.”/.
