For the first time, the Road to Olympia competition has 5 contestants participating.

The organizers of Road to Olympia have just corrected and apologized for an incorrect decision, and announced that there will be 5 contestants participating in the competition in the fourth quarter.

According to information from the organizing committee, in the January competition, the fourth quarter of the 25th year of the Road to Olympia program broadcast on August 17, four contestants competed, including Le Duc Minh (Foreign Language High School, Foreign Language University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi ); Pham Van Hieu (Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Da Nang), Vu Thien Tuan (Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Quang Ngai) and Nguyen Bach Hiep (Son Tay High School for the Gifted, Hanoi).

In the final results, Nguyen Bach Hiep ranked first with 195 points, Le Duc Minh ranked second with 185 points, Vu Thien Tuan ranked third with 140 points and Pham Van Hieu with 85 points.

However, in the Finish Line contest of contestant Le Duc Minh, the program asked: "What is the form of nutrition of most bacteria and fungi?". Contestant Le Duc Minh gave the answer "Autotrophy", which is an incorrect answer. Contestant Nguyen Bach Hiep took the right to answer and gave the answer "Chemoautotrophy".

The answer given by the program is "Heterotrophy". At the time of recording, the program advisor decided to score contestant Bach Hiep's answer.

In the program Road to Olympia, January 4th quarter 25th competition, broadcast on August 17, the Organizing Committee corrected an incorrect decision.

However, after the competition ended, the program advisor realized that this was an incorrect decision. The answers given by both students were incorrect. The correct answer should be "Heterotrophy" as the program initially announced.

"The program's organizers and advisors would like to sincerely apologize to the contestants, their families, schools and television viewers. The advisor's decision at the time of filming may have affected contestant Duc Minh's chances of entering the competition," the organizers wrote.

According to the regulations of the Road to Olympia program, after the competition ends, the results cannot be canceled. Therefore, the scores and rankings of the contestants cannot be changed.

However, to ensure humanity, fairness, and encourage students' learning spirit, the organizing committee and advisory board decided to invite contestant Le Duc Minh to participate in the 4th quarter competition, the 25th Road to Olympia, as the 5th contestant of this competition.
