On the afternoon of November 25, at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics , the Steering Committee of the Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation held a conference to review 5 years of organizing the Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation (2021-2025), evaluating the good results and far-reaching influence of the Contest on Party building and protecting the Party's ideological foundation over the past 5 years.
Member of the Politburo, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Head of the Competition Steering Committee Nguyen Xuan Thang; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Trinh Van Quyet attended the conference.
The political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation is an annual activity directed by the Central Steering Committee 35, chaired by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Central Theoretical Council, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Journalists Association .
After 5 years of implementation, the Contest has achieved good results, each year better than the previous year, clearly affirming its important role, being a prominent "bright spot", contributing significantly to the work of Party building in terms of ideology to continue to be strongly innovated, go into depth, strengthen solidarity and unity within the Party and the political system. The Contest is a proactive, creative, effective way of organizing the protection of ideological foundations, with wide influence throughout the political system, in society and abroad. There have been a total of 1.5 million entries after 5 years of organization.
Speaking at the conference, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the contest needs to be continuously maintained, expanded, and improved in quality, especially spreading the impact of the contest.
The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics affirmed that the Contest has opened up a direction, mechanism, and method to carry out the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints, focusing on the ideological and theoretical front, carried out directly with the spirit of combining construction and resistance.
According to the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the entries to the upcoming Contest need to affirm the mainstream information about the results, especially the firm adherence to the foundation of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the path of renovation; steadfastness in the goal of national independence and socialism; steadfastness in the principles of Party building, while at the same time being direct and daring to fight against distorted arguments, refuting the false arguments of hostile forces and reactionary opportunists.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the Contest has always improved in quality through many aspects such as: larger scale, larger number of participants, mobilizing all resources at all levels and sectors from the Central to local levels, especially the participation of youth union members and students.
In addition to widespread participation, the Contest has identified a very important core force, including the Steering Committee 35 of the Central Party Committees, Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, and armed forces that always play a pioneering and leading role, along with the forces of political schools and local propaganda and mass mobilization committees.
In particular, the Contest also attracted the participation of overseas Vietnamese and foreigners with close ties to Vietnam, such as the General Secretary of the Swiss Communist Party, theoretical researchers from China, Laos, Italy... showing its special nature, different from other contests.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, the quality of the competitions has been improved because the requirements of protecting the Party's ideological foundation on the ideological and theoretical front require works to be sharp, highly combative, have profound arguments, convincing arguments, and must ensure attractiveness in expression.
One difference of this contest is that all entries are new articles, not articles that have been published, aiming to build the main, core force in the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Regarding the direction of organizing the Contest in the coming time, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics noted the need to overcome the situation of uneven organization of the Contest.
To spread the results of the Contest, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that it is necessary to conduct thorough and systematic research to develop a plan to publish good articles that have been socialized through press agencies, media and radio channels.
Emphasizing the outstanding results of the Contest after 5 years of organization, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet assessed that, over the past 5 years, the Contest has created a strong change in the awareness and actions of the entire political system, arousing the sense of responsibility, courage and intelligence of cadres, party members, intellectuals, artists and the masses in the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission hopes that the spirit of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting to protect the Party's ideological foundation will spread even more strongly in 2026 when the Party holds the 14th National Congress of Delegates.
At the conference, delegates had in-depth discussions on the results, content, methods, and approaches from the stage of directing and coordinating implementation, organizing the judging, awarding prizes, to the stage of communicating the winning works; especially improving the quality of theoretical work and the fighting power of political works, ways to make the works have academic depth, sharp arguments, practical messages, and great influence throughout society.
Delegates also analyzed innovative solutions, methods of ideological struggle in cyberspace, application of artificial intelligence, big data analysis, strengthening coordination between forces to proactively identify and promptly handle bad and toxic information; clarifying the exemplary responsibility and pioneering spirit of cadres and party members in the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation, especially young cadres, journalists, media, core forces at the grassroots, creating a spreading influence to attract a large number of people from all walks of life to participate in the Contest.../.
