Hai Phong City aims to be a four-season destination for tourists

Sea and island tourism, luxury resorts, MICE tourism, golf tourism, culinary tourism combined with spiritual and cultural tourism, and craft villages will continue to be the main products of Hai Phong tourism industry.

The Hai Phong Tourism Destination Promotion Conference 2025 with the theme "Hai Phong - 4-season tourist destination" is considered an important highlight, spreading Hai Phong's strategic vision in developing high-quality tourism.

This year's conference is not only an annual promotional activity, but also an important cultural-economic event celebrating the milestone of Hai Duong - Hai Phong unification, while affirming the stature of "New Hai Phong City" on the national and international tourism map.

Land of Four Seasons Festivals

Hai Phong is a land of festivals in all four seasons. Spring is the festival of historical relics such as Con Son Pagoda festival, Hao Xa Pagoda festival, Mo Trach doctoral village festival, and Thuy Nguyen Dum singing festival.

Summer is the season of the Red Flamboyant Festival, Cat Ba and Do Son sea tourism festivals.

Autumn is the Con Son-Kiep Bac festival. Winter is the festival of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem Temple.

Along with festival tourism, Hai Phong also has tourism products that mark the labor and creativity of people, representing the economic and social development of the whole country such as the City Theater, Hai Phong Station, French architectural works, the new urban area of ​​Bac Song Cam, and Vu Yen Island.

Hai Phong possesses a rich tourism ecosystem with many strategic advantages: important seaport location; Cat Bi international airport; convenient inter-regional transportation network; diverse resources such as Cat Ba and Do Son archipelagos, a system of historical and cultural relics, traditional festivals and typical cuisine.

Regional tourist destinations such as Con Son-Kiep Bac, Yen Tu, Ha Long... create a combined strength, helping Hai Phong meet many customer segments: resorts, experiences, MICE, high-end tourism.

Destination brand positioning

At the Hai Phong Tourism Destination Promotion Conference 2025, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai highly appreciated Hai Phong's efforts and emphasized 3 "strategic assets" that create outstanding competitive advantages for the city with the "unique "green-red" positioning pair".

That is Hai Phong known as a port city, an industrial city with a unique urban port architecture system, people, indomitable spirit - very red, blending with the beautiful green of nature, with Cat Ba island, Lan Ha, primeval forests, and biodiversity islands recognized by UNESCO.

Second, the product ecosystem of Hai Phong tourism has enough "depth" for the 4-season strategy with international-class sea-island tourism: Lan Ha Bay, Dragon Ocean Do Son; Cultural - historical tourism rich in identity; Urban tourism, MICE, cruise, weekend tourism thanks to the advantage of transport infrastructure; Affordable culinary tourism, rich in the taste of the sea - a unique characteristic of Hai Phong.

Third, Hai Phong has a particularly important strategic position in regional and international connectivity, being the gateway to the Northern coastal region, facilitating the development of international and domestic tourist markets, creating cost advantages and the ability to expand tours and products.

To develop and expand Hai Phong tourism, the Deputy Director suggested 5 groups of solutions for Hai Phong to improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and development: Building and positioning a distinct and easily recognizable destination brand. Promoting communication and promotion using digital technology and data, building a smart tourism map, and a destination data system integrated with AI.

Expand and access the right markets, especially Northeast Asia, ASEAN, Europe, Australia, India; increase inter-regional flights and tours. Strengthen regional connectivity, strongly connect with Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh; develop night entertainment products. Mobilize social resources, put businesses at the center of the tourism ecosystem.

Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai said that with advantages in resources, identity, infrastructure and development aspirations, the city will become a safe - friendly - attractive - emotional destination.

In the coming time, Hai Phong city will continue to improve the quality of tourism human resources, build a professional workforce with foreign language skills and modern working style.

Special tourism products such as sea and island tourism, luxury resorts, MICE tourism (conferences, seminars), golf tourism, culinary tourism combined with spiritual and cultural tourism, and craft villages will continue to be key products.

The city will strengthen tourism promotion on digital platforms, expand international cooperation, organize programs to bring survey teams and press agencies to visit destinations to strongly spread the image of Hai Phong tourism.

In the first 10 months of 2025, Hai Phong tourism will welcome 12.8 million visitors, of which international visitors are estimated at 980,000, an increase of about 10% over the same period in 2024./.
