Spreading the noble gesture of Ha Tinh people

(Baohatinh.vn) - The "voluntary blood donation" movement has been and is being actively and effectively implemented by all levels and sectors in Ha Tinh, truly becoming a humanitarian charity activity with widespread influence.

In recent years, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation (hereinafter referred to as the Steering Committee) at all levels in Ha Tinh has been strengthened; propaganda and mobilization work for people to participate in voluntary blood donation has been implemented quite effectively. Voluntary blood donation has become a humanitarian charity movement with widespread influence in the social community; mobilizing the active and responsible participation of all levels and sectors.

Local leaders and departments actively participate in the voluntary blood donation movement.

Hong Linh Town has always been one of the leading units in the results of the voluntary blood donation movement in recent years. Every year, the Voluntary Blood Donation Movement Steering Committee of the town develops a plan and assigns specific targets to each unit in the area; strengthens propaganda work to each cadre and people. The Live Blood Bank Club with 60 members is always ready to provide blood when medical facilities have a need.

The program "Pink Spring Festival" held in Hong Linh Town in February 2025 attracted a large number of officials, people and volunteers to participate.

In 2024 alone, the Town Steering Committee received 575 units of blood (exceeding the target assigned by the province by 142%). With this result, the Hong Linh Town Red Cross Society will be awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding collectives in the blood donation movement in 2025.

Mr. Dong Thanh Lieu - Chairman of the Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of Hong Linh town said: "With the attention of leaders of the Party Committee, government, agencies, and organizations, blood donation programs in the area are all organized methodically, attracting a large number of cadres, people, and volunteers to participate. The work of honoring and rewarding outstanding blood donors every year is organized promptly and solemnly by the Town People's Committee, contributing to encouraging, motivating, and spreading the spirit and noble deeds of blood donors".

The voluntary blood donation movement has attracted a large number of people from all walks of life to participate.

The participation of local authorities, departments and sectors, along with the active role of the media, has helped the voluntary blood donation movement spread more and more widely in society, attracting people from many professions and fields to participate.

Taking on the role of Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Nai Ward 8 (Ha Tinh City), Nguyen Minh Hoang’s (born in 1987) main job is a driver. Despite being quite busy and struggling with “two roles”, Hoang still regularly participates in humanitarian blood donation programs.

With 20 blood donations, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang was honored as a typical individual in the voluntary blood donation movement in the whole province in 2025.

Sharing about his journey of donating blood to save lives, Mr. Hoang said: “Wandering on the roads, witnessing many traffic accidents that caused victims to lose a lot of blood, I realized that I needed to actively donate blood to help those in need. As the secretary of the Youth Union in the residential area, I also regularly mobilize relatives, friends, union members, youth and local people to participate in donating blood.”

In more than 10 years (2014 - 2025), Mr. Hoang has donated blood more than 20 times and mobilized dozens of people to participate. He was selected as one of the typical individuals in the province's voluntary blood donation movement in 2025.

With the motto "Every drop of blood given, a life remains", voluntary blood donation has become a humanitarian charity movement with profound humanistic meaning.

According to the provincial Steering Committee, in 2024, the province organized 38 blood donation campaigns and received 9,678 units of blood (107.5% of the plan). In the first 6 months of 2025, the province organized 16 blood donation campaigns and received 5,290 units of blood (55% of the target).

The amount of donated blood exceeded the target, however, the demand for treatment and emergency care for patients is currently quite high. To overcome the shortage of blood and provide timely blood supply to medical facilities, the "Red Journey" program in 2025 was implemented from June 1 to July 30, 2025. The program aims to collect 1,100 units of blood, of which the "Thanh Sen Red Drops" blood donation festival alone, scheduled to be held on June 10, 2025, strives to collect 600 units. Also within the framework of the "Red Journey" program, a ceremony will be held to honor 4 collectives and 19 individuals who are outstanding blood donors in the province in 2025.

The voluntary blood donation movement has become a charitable and humanitarian movement with widespread and practical significance in the community. From the precious source of donated blood, many patients have been saved, many lives have been revived. Honoring typical blood donation groups and individuals is a worthy gratitude and recognition for their noble hearts and actions. These are also the core members, the active propagandists who spread the movement to the community so that the "Red Journey" is truly a journey of compassion.
