In recent days, social networks have spread information that pork from CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Vietnam) is not of guaranteed quality, causing confusion and anxiety among consumers. According to retail stores and supermarkets in Ha Tinh , CP Company's pork, chicken, and sausage products are still on sale, however, purchasing power has decreased significantly.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (Bac Ha Ward, Ha Tinh City) shared: “I often go to the supermarket to shop because the products have clear origins, have been inspected, and ensure food hygiene and safety. My family has 2 young children, so I often bought CP sausages to prepare for daily meals. Before the rumor that the company was accused of selling diseased pork and seeing the images circulating online, I couldn't help but feel confused and distrustful."

According to Winmart Ha Tinh Supermarket, the unit is selling CP brand sausages, however, the purchasing power for this item has decreased significantly in recent days. Mr. Vo Cong Hai - Director of Winmart Ha Tinh Supermarket shared: "Winmart Ha Tinh has stopped importing goods from the CP brand to wait for the official conclusion from the authorities. For CP brand sausage products, sales in the past week have decreased by 80% due to the fear and caution of consumers. Some customers who have purchased the products still want to return them after reading the information online. We still accept product returns to ensure maximum benefits for consumers".
According to Mr. Hai, the Winmart Ha Tinh Supermarket system has proactively sourced alternative goods to serve customers' shopping needs. "Winmart Ha Tinh is currently trading Meat Deli pork, Masan chicken, O'lala sausages... The diversity of products and brands helps customers freely choose according to their needs. In addition, Winmart Supermarket always complies with strict import conditions and procedures, resolutely saying no to dirty food" - Mr. Hai said.

At Co.opmart Ha Tinh Supermarket, the unit is selling instant sausages, frozen sausages, chicken... from the CP brand. Many customers shopping here are hesitant and wary of negative information, which has caused sales of CP products at Co.opmart Ha Tinh to decrease by 20% in the past week.
Ms. Tran Minh Ha (Cam Nhuong commune, Cam Xuyen) shared: “For me, ensuring safety in daily meals for my family is always a top priority. When I heard the negative information, I was very worried because I had previously used products from the CP brand. At this time, I decided to switch to another brand while waiting for the official conclusion from the authorities.”

According to representatives of supermarkets in Ha Tinh, customers' hesitation and concern about unclear "black and white" matters is understandable, however, consumers need to have a wise perspective to choose safe products that ensure food hygiene and safety.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu - Marketing Manager of Co.opmart Ha Tinh Supermarket shared: "Currently waiting for the conclusion from the authorities, products from the CP brand are still being sold normally by Co.opmart Ha Tinh Supermarket. However, based on the purchasing situation and consumption capacity of the items, we will balance to import additional appropriate supplies. During the import process, the supermarket has committed to closely checking with suppliers on food safety standards, ISO certifications, etc., so customers can rest assured when shopping at reputable supermarkets."

The significant decrease in sales of CP brand products shows that people are cautious and wary of information related to food hygiene and safety issues. This is also a move for supermarkets and retailers to balance the supply of goods, strictly control the quality of inputs to ensure stable business situation and legitimate rights for consumers.
