Village in the City features a cast of beloved young actors: Doan Quoc Dam, Duy Hung, Tran Van, Le Quyen... Many audiences are excitedly waiting for the return of Men and Hieu in this part of the film.

However, as soon as episode 1 aired, on forums related to the film, a series of comments appeared expressing annoyance, fatigue, and even wanting to quit the film just because of the character Men's voice.

Specifically, appearing in this part of the film, Men is calm, hardworking and loves his family very much, but he has a hoarse voice that is very difficult to hear. This makes the audience feel uncomfortable and tired when watching the film:

"I suggest that in episode 2, let Mr. Men speak in a normal voice, because listening to this voice makes me want to quit the show", "If you strain your ears and hold your breath, you won't be able to hear what Mr. Men is saying", "I suggest that Doan Quoc Dam's character speak in a normal voice", "Hearing this voice, few people have the patience to watch the whole episode. Watching a show to relax but having to strain your ears to listen, you still can't hear clearly. The more you listen attentively, the more uncomfortable you feel. This is a type of backward creativity when forcing the audience to listen to a strange voice, not like the majority".

Doan Quoc Dam's voice in the movie

Doan Quoc Dam's voice in the movie "Village in the City" is annoying.

Previously, at the film's press conference, Doan Quoc Dam also shared that he had anticipated the audience's reaction to the character Men with this special voice.

Accordingly, Doan Quoc Dam always researches and creates so that each role has its own characteristics. With the role of Men of Lang Trong Pho , the actor also wants to bring a special highlight to his character:

"During the filming of the film Gia dinh minh vui bat thuc luc, there was a neighbor next to the set who often drank alcohol. When the crew was practicing their lines, he came out and said in a hoarse, deep voice that no one was laughing when we acted. At that time, I was preparing to act in the film Lang trong pho so I decided to bring this voice to the character Men."

"I would have saved this for another role. However, after reading the original script, the film's plot twist was that Men's wife unfortunately had a miscarriage while pregnant with their second child, so he turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows and suffered a "near-death" illness. I relied on that and assumed that after that illness, Men would have a hoarse voice like that," the actor added.

Doan Quoc Dam himself also had difficulty maintaining the special voice for the character Men because he had to squeeze his vocal cords while speaking. This was not too difficult when acting in normal scenes, but with emotional climaxes, the actor had a hard time controlling it.

However, Doan Quoc Dam also anticipated that this unique voice would cause discomfort to the audience:

"Just like the blinking habit of the character Tuan in the movie Dau Tri, some viewers will like it, some viewers will not like it. Likewise, when I did Men's voice, I was also afraid that the audience would not be able to hear it, especially when the audience watched it on their phones.

But I'm still taking a risk. I'll keep trying, even if I make mistakes, so I can know what's wrong and fix it later."
