Leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulate the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on the occasion of National Day

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025) and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Caysone Phomvihane (December 13, 1920 - December 13, 2025), on the afternoon of November 24, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong led a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to congratulate the Lao Embassy in Hanoi.

On behalf of the Ministry's leadership, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong warmly congratulated Ambassador Khampau Ernthavanh and all officers and staff of the Lao Embassy; highly appreciated the great achievements that Laos has achieved in the construction, development and protection of the country over the past 50 years, especially the 40 years of implementing the renovation process; political and social security continued to be stable, the lives of Lao people were increasingly improved, foreign relations were increasingly expanded, and the prestige and position of Laos were constantly enhanced in the international arena.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his delight at the breakthrough developments in Vietnam-Laos relations in recent times, especially in 2025. Under the close leadership of the two Parties and two States, the two sides have actively promoted key areas of cooperation, bringing the relationship between the two countries to increasingly develop in depth, practically and effectively.

In 2025, the two sides successfully organized many meaningful events, on the occasion of the important anniversaries of the two countries, including the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day and in the coming days, activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day. Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong said that the close coordination between the two sides in organizing these important events has special significance, contributing to promoting the tradition of solidarity between the two Parties and two States, developing and enhancing the effectiveness of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, preserving, cultivating and passing on to the younger generation the special spirit of attachment and loyalty between the two countries.

Appreciating Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh's contributions to strengthening the cooperative relationship, the Deputy Minister hoped that in the coming time, the Ambassador and the staff of the Lao Embassy would continue to closely cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in preparing for important foreign affairs activities between the two countries.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for coming to congratulate the Embassy on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day and the 105th anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane's birthday, demonstrating the close brotherly affection between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the Embassy of Laos.

The Lao Ambassador also thanked the very positive assessments of the cooperation relationship between Laos and Vietnam as well as the Ambassador himself and the Lao Embassy staff; affirmed to continue to coordinate more closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in implementing the Embassy's work, wishing to contribute to further fostering and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
