Through the process of mobilizing, discussing, and persuading, 4 households have agreed to hand over the land. The district will organize compulsory land recovery, demolition of constructions and assets on the remaining 8 households on May 20.
These are 12 cases of building houses on agricultural land (land divided into plots for sale), using handwritten land sale contracts, without being granted separate land use right certificates for each case (the original land use right certificates still bear the name of the old owner).
According to regulations, these households are only compensated and supported for assets on land; are considered for options to buy social housing in projects in the area; and are not eligible for resettlement.
Previously, on May 17, the District Party Secretary and Acting Chairman of the District People's Committee worked with the Land Acquisition Enforcement Board to implement Component 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, Phase 1, through Long Thanh District.
At this meeting, it was agreed that the land will be forcibly reclaimed on May 20. Before the enforcement, the district's working group will make a final appeal. If at this meeting the people agree to hand over the land, there will be no enforcement, and forces will be sent to assist the people in dismantling their houses and moving their assets.
In case after the last mobilization, the people still do not agree, the district will enforce according to the issued plan, the people must bear all enforcement costs.
