Ho Chi Minh City leaders meet with President of the Federal Republic of Germany

On the afternoon of January 24, in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the City People's Committee, met with President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who was visiting and working in Ho Chi Minh City, within the framework of his State visit to Vietnam from January 23-24, at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong.

Welcoming the visit and working session of the German President and his wife, Mr. Phan Van Mai expressed his hope that the German President would continue to encourage German enterprises to expand cooperation and investment in the City in areas where Germany has strengths such as manufacturing technology, infrastructure, renewable energy, etc., contributing to the sustainable development of the City. Ho Chi Minh City is committed to continuing to improve the investment environment and create favorable conditions for investors, including German enterprises, to invest and do business in the City.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee also expressed his hope that the German President would continue to encourage and support German educational institutions and German enterprises to strengthen cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of education, vocational training for students; exchange of management experience and educational innovation. In addition, he hoped that the German Government would continue to promote people-to-people exchange activities between German localities and Ho Chi Minh City.

Thanking the leaders of the City People's Committee for their welcome, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed his pleasure in visiting and working in Ho Chi Minh City; highly appreciating the dynamic development of the City, which has contributed to the overall development of Vietnam in recent times.

During his visit and working in Ho Chi Minh City, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet and attend a roundtable conference with German businesses; and visit the Vietnamese-German University in Binh Duong .
