On the afternoon of July 29, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) of Hue city held a ceremony to announce a model route to deploy environmentally friendly integrated BTS stations in the city.

By 2025, Hue City has deployed nearly 50 BTS stations in the central area and tourist destinations such as: Hue Monuments Complex, tourist routes and areas along the Perfume River. BTS stations are installed synchronously, unified in design, in harmony with the landscape, meeting technical and urban aesthetic standards. All strictly comply with radiation safety standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Vietnamese authorities.
In particular, Le Loi Street has become a model with 100% of BTS stations designed as integrated lamp posts, in harmony with urban architecture. Not only providing 4G and 5G coverage, these BTS stations also integrate urban utilities such as public wifi, Hue-S signs, security cameras, lighting systems, tourist maps, etc., thereby contributing to improving the experience for residents and visitors.
At the ceremony, Mr. Ha Chi Dung - Deputy Director of Mobifone Central Network Center pledged to accompany the city in expanding 5G coverage, supporting digital administration, smart tourism and applying telecommunications technology in urban management, education and healthcare. At the same time, he will closely coordinate with local authorities in building and developing green - clean - digital infrastructure.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee highly appreciated the initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, along with the close and active coordination of departments, branches, localities and telecommunications enterprises in the process of deploying environmentally friendly integrated BTS stations, ensuring compliance with the city's development orientation towards a smart, green and sustainable urban area.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that the city always determines that the development of telecommunications infrastructure must be closely linked to the protection of landscape, environment and preservation of urban heritage identity. Therefore, the design of BTS stations must be compact, in harmony with urban space, and at the same time integrate many public utilities to improve service quality and complete the modern, environmentally friendly digital infrastructure system.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee delivered a speech at the announcement ceremony.
The leaders of the City People's Committee requested the Department of Science and Technology to continue to do a good job in planning and building a synchronous and modern digital infrastructure, ensuring urban aesthetics, effectively serving the city's digital transformation. At the same time, strengthen management, inspection and supervision during the implementation process.
The City People's Committee assigned relevant departments, branches, sectors and commune/ward People's Committees to closely coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology during the implementation process; proactively support enterprises to ensure progress and efficiency in the process of installing integrated BTS stations.
The city is committed to continuing to accompany businesses, creating favorable conditions for procedures, and supporting the implementation of model projects. At the same time, it calls on telecommunications businesses to continue to join hands with local authorities, apply advanced technology solutions, optimize digital infrastructure, promote creativity in design and replicate model projects throughout the area, contributing to accelerating the progress of 5G coverage throughout Hue city.

Regarding the orientation for the 2025-2030 period, Hue city aims to install 250-300 more environmentally friendly integrated BTS stations, and continue to expand to Thuan Hoa, Phu Xuan, Vy Da, Kim Long, An Cuu wards, commune/ward centers, relic sites and key tourist attractions. The goal is to achieve 100% 5G coverage across the city by 2030.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Science and Technology of Hue city and telecommunications enterprises signed a commitment to implement the goals of digital infrastructure development according to Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo. This is a testament to the spirit of companionship and determination to make Hue city one of the five leading localities in the country in digital infrastructure, contributing to promoting comprehensive digital transformation and socio-economic development in a smart, modern and sustainable direction.
