The activity is part of a series of events in Hanoi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bach Lien Huong said: “House No. 48 Hang Ngang was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1979.
Since then, this place has become a "red address" in the heart of the capital, not only marking important events of the nation but also a symbol of revolutionary intelligence, strategic vision, patriotism, and the desire for independence and peace of the Vietnamese people.
According to Ms. Bach Lien Huong, in the early days of the August Revolution in 1945, the house at 48 Hang Ngang became the workplace of the Central Party Standing Committee and President Ho Chi Minh.
Here, many important decisions on domestic and foreign affairs, institutions and the composition of the provisional government were passed. Notably, in a small room on the second floor, President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
“With its stature and contemporary ideology, the Declaration of Independence is the crystallization of the Vietnamese people’s thousand-year-old traditional values of the aspiration for independence - freedom - happiness; at the same time, it contains universal values of humanity on human rights and the right to national self-determination,” Ms. Bach Lien Huong emphasized.
The historical space at 48 Hang Ngang house is recreated through exhibitions applying modern technology such as mapping, virtual reality (VR), holograms... combined with a rich system of documents, creating depth and high heritage education value.
In addition, the exhibition also recreates the silk production space of Mr. Trinh Van Bo and Ms. Hoang Thi Minh Ho's family, and organizes interactive activities such as craft workshops, contributing to connecting heritage with the community.
This is the result of a serious process of conservation - research - creation, and at the same time demonstrates Hanoi's commitment to innovating approaches and enhancing the value of cultural heritage in the context of digital transformation.
The exhibition content is elaborately and scientifically designed, revolving around three main themes: (1) The house at 48 Hang Ngang and the patriotic bourgeois family Trinh Van Bo - Hoang Thi Minh Ho; (2) The historical context and the birth of the Declaration of Independence; (3) The historical significance of the Declaration of Independence and the journey to protect national independence.
To commemorate and pay tribute to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the relic exhibition space also has a worship room decorated in a traditional style, deeply marking his great historical role in the struggle for national independence.
After the ceremony, the exhibition at 48 Hang Ngang Relics officially opened, ready to welcome delegations, students, residents of the capital, and domestic and foreign tourists to visit and learn.
