The theme of this year's festival is "Ngoc Linh - The Era of Rising", organized by the People's Committee of Nam Tra My commune in coordination with the People's Committees of Tra Linh, Tra Tap, Tra Van and Tra Leng communes (Da Nang city). The festival aims to honor the special value of Ngoc Linh ginseng - a rare medicinal herb of Vietnam. At the same time, it promotes the brand, promotes product consumption, develops tourism and local economy . Festival activities are associated with preserving folk knowledge, cultural exchange and promoting the role of the people.
The highlight of the festival is the opening ceremony on the evening of August 1, which will be broadcast live on DNRT and social media platforms. The program includes the opening ceremony, the performance of the Ginseng God procession, art performances and low-altitude fireworks.
Throughout the 3 days of the festival, there will be an exhibition space and a Ngoc Linh Ginseng market with 50 booths introducing Ngoc Linh ginseng products, medicinal herbs, OCOP products, traditional craft villages... In addition, a typical mountainous culinary area will introduce the culinary quintessence of ethnic minorities in the Southwest region of Da Nang City.
Notably, at this year’s festival, the Nam Tra My Commune People’s Committee will organize a Ngoc Linh Ginseng Competition and an auction to raise funds to build charity houses and eliminate temporary houses. The competition will attract ginseng growers, cooperatives, businesses and prestigious people to participate in a ginseng identification competition by age, combined with an auction of winning products.
Also within the framework of the festival, there will be a procession of the Ngoc Linh Ginseng symbol from the Ginseng God Temple in Tra Linh Commune to the Event Center (taking place on August 1); a tour to experience the ginseng and medicinal herbs area from July 31 to August 3 in Tra Linh Commune, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the ginseng growing area and experience the local culture.
Nam Tra My Commune People's Committee affirmed that the festival was organized economically, effectively, ensuring safety, creating a vibrant atmosphere, contributing to enhancing the Ngoc Linh Ginseng brand and developing the socio-economy of the mountainous region.
