The 2025 International Tea Festival in Lam Dong promises to become a key cultural-tourism -economic event of the year, spreading the message "Vietnamese Tea - Vietnamese Soul" to the world.

With the largest scale ever, the International Tea Festival - World Tea Fest 2025 will take place for nearly a month (from November 11 to December 7, 2025) in Lam Dong province, expected to attract about 20,000 visitors.
The festival is divided into two main phases. Phase 1 (from November 11 to December 4) includes sideline activities: Artistic creation space on tea culture; tea startup competition for students (theme "Lighting the soul of tea, inspiring youth"); incense offering ceremony and "National drink" tea offering to the National Ancestor King Hung).
Phase 2 (from December 5-7, 2025) is a series of main events including: exhibition of Vietnamese-international tea culture and technology experiences; " Diplomatic Tea" with the participation of 60 ambassadors from countries; international tea fair and exhibition; high-level conference on tea industry development strategy; street festival, grand music festival and Ao Dai performance by 80 Miss Cosmo contestants from around the world.
The World Tea Fest 2025 is expected to set many new records for tea, thereby contributing to promoting the image and affirming the position of Vietnamese tea in the domestic and international markets.
Vietnam is considered one of the cradles of the world's tea civilization, with a long tradition of cultivation and tea culture. Among them, Lam Dong - the tea capital of the country, is constantly developing, becoming a land of diverse climate and soil, creating unique tea lines with rich flavors.
The harmonious combination of traditional farming techniques and the application of modern technology, along with the cultural identity of Vietnamese tea, is helping Lam Dong affirm its position and economic-cultural potential on the international tea map.

The 2025 International Tea Festival is an event that closely connects the three elements of “heritage - economy - sustainable development” in Vietnamese tea culture. The festival not only honors the hundreds of years of traditional heritage of tea trees, preserves cultivation techniques and the art of tea tasting, but also promotes economic activities, promotes international trade, expands export markets and enhances the value of Vietnamese tea products.
In addition, the program also emphasizes sustainable development, encourages the application of organic agriculture, green technology and environmentally friendly production models, contributing to ensuring long-term development for the Vietnamese tea industry.
The festival is expected to have representatives from several countries with tea products from Japan, China, France, Malaysia, Thailand, etc. participating.
The 2025 International Tea Festival promises to become a key cultural-tourism-economic event of the year, spreading the message of “Vietnamese Tea - Vietnamese Soul” to the world. With a series of rich activities, the festival will be a special highlight in the year-end tourist season, contributing to attracting tourists and promoting the image of Lam Dong - a land of tea with great potential and identity.
According to recorded documents, tea trees first appeared in Lam Dong in early 1927 by a French citizen named Romoeville and began to be planted in the Cau Dat - Da Lat area. By 1954, in Dong Nai Thuong province (part of Lam Dong province today), there were 409 large and small plantations, mostly growing tea and coffee. In 2022, Lam Dong became the largest tea granary in the country with an area of nearly 26,000 hectares, an output of more than 182,000 tons.
However, by 2025, the total tea growing area in the province will only be about 12,000 hectares of raw material area. The reason is said to be due to competitive pressure from other crops with higher economic value; because the tea industry still focuses on raw production, has not invested enough in deep processing and product diversification to create higher value for the export market.
In particular, tea production and processing enterprises still face difficulties in accessing large markets that are strict in terms of quality and standards.

The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited statistics from the Customs Department, saying that in the third quarter of 2025, Vietnam's tea exports reached 39.3 thousand tons, worth 70.8 million USD, up 26.8% in volume and 32.5% in value compared to the second quarter of 2025, but down 12.9% in volume and down 11.2% in value compared to the third quarter of 2024.
The average export price of tea in the third quarter of 2025 will reach 1,799.6 thousand USD/ton, up 4.5% compared to the second quarter of 2025 and up 1.9% compared to the third quarter of 2024.
In the first 9 months of 2025, tea exports reached 97.2 thousand tons, worth 167.3 million USD, down 9.2% in volume and 9.9% in value compared to the same period in 2024. The average export price of tea reached 1,720.4 USD/ton, down 0.7% compared to the same period in 2024.
Particularly in the European market, although tea exports to this region decreased sharply in volume by 16.2% and value by 7.3%, the average export price increased by 10.6% over the same period in 2024, reaching 1,996.9 USD/ton.
This price increase shows that Vietnamese tea is shifting towards higher quality products, focusing on value-added items to meet the strict standards of this region.
The Organizing Committee of the International Tea Festival - World Tea Fest 2025 hopes that through the festival, it will strongly promote international trade promotion activities, expand export markets and increase the economic value of Lam Dong tea products as well as those of Vietnam./.
