Vietnam Festival in Japan: Cultural Exchange Deepens Bilateral Relations

According to VNA correspondent in Japan, on May 8, a press conference was held in Tokyo to announce the organization of the Vietnam Festival in Japan 2025.

The event is scheduled to take place on May 31 and June 1 at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo.

Speaking at the press conference, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Festival in Japan, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu emphasized that the Vietnam Festival in Japan is a meaningful event in enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries.

The Ambassador said that with 17 times held, the Vietnam Festival at Yoyogi Park has become a cultural exchange brand, anticipated by many Japanese friends and the Vietnamese community in Japan every year.

This is not only an opportunity for the Vietnamese community living abroad to connect with their roots, but also an important bridge to bring Vietnamese culture closer to Japanese friends.

The Ambassador especially emphasized the element of people-to-people cultural exchange - an indispensable pillar in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world between the two countries.

The Ambassador said that the Vietnam Festival in Japan 2025 will feature performances by many young artists, representing a new generation of talented, creative and young-friendly artists, with modern music performances, not only bringing the youthful spirit of Vietnam to Japan, a Vietnam in the new era, but also contributing to creating a strong and vibrant connection between the people of the two countries.

The Ambassador expressed his hope that this year's festival will further spread the unique beauty and rich identity of Vietnamese culture to Japanese friends - from folk art performances such as unique water puppetry, ao dai performance space, traditional dishes imbued with the flavor of the homeland, to the image of the gentle, friendly and creative Vietnamese people.

The festival will be an opportunity to arouse cultural empathy, contributing to expanding new cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, science and technology, digital transformation, green transformation,education , and tourism.

The Ambassador called for the companionship, support and dissemination of information from Japanese press agencies, so that Vietnamese cultural values can be brought closer to the Japanese public, so that the image of a modern but traditional Vietnam can be more deeply engraved in the hearts of international friends.

Japanese parliamentarian Aoyagi Yoichiro, co-head of the Vietnam Festival Organizing Committee in Japan, emphasized that the Vietnam Festival at Yoyogi Park is the largest Vietnam exchange event in Japan, affirming its position as a comprehensive platform to deepen Japan-Vietnam relations in many fields, including the opening ceremony with the participation of high-ranking leaders of Vietnam and Japan, as well as economy, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchange.

The MP said that the Vietnam Festival 2025 will have diverse content, allowing visitors to fully experience the charm of Vietnam.

With the spirit of “Closer and Deeper,” the Vietnam Festival in Japan 2025 will be two days of vibrant connection between Vietnam and Japan. The Organizing Committee expects the festival to have 130 booths, attracting an estimated 180,000 visitors./.
