Building a strong Vietnamese e-commerce market
The event was organized by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with Industry and Trade Newspaper, main sponsor Deli Stationery and related units. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai attended and directed the ceremony.

In recent years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has presided over and coordinated with ministries and branches, with the strong participation of domestic and foreign enterprises, to organize the National E-commerce Week and the annual Vietnam Online Friday Online Shopping Day Program.
This is one of the outstanding activities, included in the programs and tasks of the National E-commerce Development Program for the period 2021 - 2025 approved by the Government in Decision No. 645/QD-TTg dated May 20, 2020.
The event is of great significance for the community to join hands and build solutions for people and consumers; build trust in e-commerce transactions in particular and the trend of digital transactions.
Entering its 10th year, the Vietnam Online Friday Online Shopping Day Program cannot lack the support of businesses including the main sponsor Deli Stationery, e-commerce platforms, units providing digital transformation infrastructure solutions, electronic payment support infrastructure, delivery logistics, and especially, the support of journalists and reporters from news agencies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that, implementing the Government's direction, since 2014, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has effectively implemented the program "National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday".

Over the past 10 years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized the Program with the mission of accompanying the Vietnamese e-commerce market to solve difficulties and challenges in people's awareness and trust in online shopping; difficulties in supporting technology infrastructure... Thereby, contributing to promoting the rapid, strong and sustainable development of the Vietnamese e-commerce market.
The Online Friday 2023 program takes place in the context that Vietnamese enterprises have returned to the rhythm of production and business with many changes in methods and models of digital technology application. The National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day Online Friday 2023 are expected by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to promote the role of connecting production, distribution, service enterprises and consumers nationwide through e-commerce.
To realize these contents, the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade require the Program to thoroughly grasp the following factors:
Firstly, the product must have clear origin and be genuine, ensuring the trust of people and consumers when participating in transactions.
Second, it is necessary to improve the consumer experience, helping people understand and participate. Increase the application of technological solutions to ensure consumer rights in the online environment.
Third, conveniently apply digital technology solutions on the Internet and telecommunications networks to promote online transactions, effective e-commerce and ensure information security.
Fourth, it is necessary to promote the role of Vietnamese goods in communication and promotion activities in the online environment.
Fifth, for businesses operating in the field of e-commerce, it is necessary to make the most of available advantages, offer promotions and discounts to customers, and meet consumer needs at the end of the year.

Finally, it is necessary to strongly promote the synchronous use of e-commerce support solutions such as: Online payment, smart delivery, affiliate marketing, social networking platforms, etc. to help manufacturing, distribution, and service businesses apply e-commerce, increase sales and develop sustainably.

At the ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, leaders of the State Bank; leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications; Hanoi City; Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy; Vietnam E-commerce Association; a number of businesses and manufacturers performed the button-pressing ceremony to officially activate the golden hour of the biggest online shopping day of 2023.
At the moment of the activating button ceremony of National E-commerce Week and Online Shopping Day 2023, the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities across the country jointly held the activating button ceremony at the connecting points of the localities. This is a very meaningful activity for the Ministry of Industry and Trade in connecting from the Central to the local level, between businesses and consumers across the country to join hands to build a strong, stable and sustainable development of the Vietnamese e-commerce market.
Previously, on November 16, 2023, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy) held a press conference to introduce and provide official information about the National E-commerce Week Program and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 to agencies, organizations, businesses and consumers as well as media agencies and units nationwide.

Accordingly, the outstanding new point in the Online Friday program in 2023 is that the Program has promoted the application of digital technology and deployed it on many platforms, connecting participants in the Vietnamese e-commerce market in providing diverse, high-quality, affordable products to consumers in the fastest and most convenient way.
The opening ceremony also officially activated online promotion programs nationwide, digital technology experience activities at the Program's exhibition spaces to increase awareness and benefits for the people.
In addition, the subjects participating in the Program are more diverse, including businesses providing e-commerce support services, e-commerce platforms, e-payment partners, delivery and transportation to bring the best benefits to consumers.
Notably, this year's Program has a commitment from businesses, suppliers, and e-commerce platforms to control the quality of goods to enhance the protection of consumer rights in e-commerce.
The Program Organizing Committee hopes that businesses, including e-commerce platforms, digital transformation infrastructure solution providers, infrastructure supporting secure payments in e-commerce, delivery logistics, and especially media agencies, will continue to accompany the Vietnam Online Shopping Day Program - Online Friday to contribute to the development of the digital economy according to the Government's direction on promoting technological advantages and seizing opportunities brought about by the 4.0 Industrial Revolution taking place globally.
The 60-hour Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 program will take place from 0:00 on Friday, December 1, 2023 to 12:00 on December 3, 2023. From now on, consumers nationwide can access the program's official website: https://onlinefriday.vn/ to search for products and attractive promotions that interest them.
According to the latest updated data from the Organizing Committee, from 0:00 on December 1 to now, there have been 280 million views of videos with the hashtag #OnlineFriday, more than 100 million views of thousands of livestream sessions with the OnlineFriday2023 Sticker on the TikTok platform. According to the representative of TikTok Vietnam, taking advantage of the existing user community and a full set of effective sales support solutions, TikTok will continue to support businesses and sellers, especially Vietnamese small, medium and micro enterprises, to achieve positive revenue on the platform. |
