65 years ago, stemming from the urgent needs of the coal industry and the task of restoring and developing the economy after the war, the first mining worker training classes were opened, laying the foundation for the birth and development of the Vietnam College of Coal and Minerals. Before merging into a common school in 2014, the predecessor units, Hong Cam Mining Vocational College, Huu Nghi Mining Vocational College and Viet Bac Industrial Vocational College, undertook the mission of training and fostering tens of thousands of technical workers, contributing to the formation of a team of skilled miners, creating traditional values and a solid foundation for the school today.
After the merger, Vietnam College of Coal and Minerals continues to strive to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Group, ensuring the supply of enough miners for coal mines with increasingly improved professional skills, awareness and industrial style.
In the period 2015-2025, the school has recruited, trained, and provided 43,268 miners for enterprises in TKV. At the same time, the scale of training in 113 other occupations has been expanded to serve the needs of the labor market. 100% of the school's students have jobs immediately after graduation in underground mining, automotive technology, welding, and mechanics; over 95% of students in other occupations have jobs within 3 months of graduation.
