The Ambassador said that both India and Vietnam are oriented and prioritize the goal of becoming developed countries by 2047 and 2045. As two rapidly growing economies at a rate of about 7% per annum, both sides are increasingly aware of and supportive of realizing new opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation. The two governments have outlined efforts to expand bilateral trade and identified areas of mutual interest to increase investment in both directions, specifically: Infrastructure, energy (electricity) and transportation.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet spoke at the ceremony.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet reviewed the achievements of cooperation between Vietnam and India over the past 70 years. The Deputy Minister affirmed that the two countries continue to be connected by a strong comprehensive strategic partnership, as evidenced by the recent successful State visit to India by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Economic cooperation between the two countries is growing strongly, with bilateral trade reaching US$15 billion and the two sides have set a target of doubling this figure by 2030. With more than 50 direct flights per week connecting major cities in the two countries, the number of Indian tourists to Vietnam has tripled since the first direct flight in 2019, reaching nearly 400,000 by 2023. Over the past 10 years, India has trained nearly 3,000 Vietnamese officials and students in many fields, including important areas such as defense and security. India's multi-directional, multi-connected foreign policy is very much in line with Vietnam's independent, multilateral and diversified foreign policy. In particular, Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet emphasized that Vietnam and India still have a lot of potential and room to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership, including further deepening political trust and defense cooperation, further expanding opportunities for effective cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, science - technology and innovation, and people-to-people exchange.
