On February 2, 2024, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province held a ceremony to award the provincial-level historical relic ranking certificate to Hieu Phung communal house, Tan Quang hamlet, Hieu Phung commune, Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Oanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Culture - Society, Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; on the side of Vung Liem district, there was Mr. Tran Quoc Hop - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee; together with representatives of a number of departments, branches, sectors of the province, Vung Liem district, Hieu Phung commune, representatives of a number of Management Boards of historical - cultural relics in the province, historical witnesses, and people of Tan Quang hamlet.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the provincial historical relic ranking certificate to Hieu Phung communal house.
Hieu Phung Communal House was built in 1825, not only as a place of worship, serving the religious needs of local people, but during the resistance war against French colonialism and American imperialism, Hieu Phung Communal House was also a place marking many important historical events of the locality. That further highlighted the tradition of struggle of the people and contributed significantly to the cause of fighting for national independence and freedom, while affirming the historical value of the relic.
With the historical values that Hieu Phung communal house preserves, on January 17, 2024, the Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee signed Decision No. 81/QD-UBND, ranking Hieu Phung communal house as a provincial historical relic, affirming the historical values being preserved and kept at the communal house, establishing a scientific basis and legal basis to protect and promote the long-term value of the relic, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism for the younger generation, a place to consolidate the community, villages, and foster love for the homeland for generations./.
