At this historical site, 60 years ago, the army and people of Phu Yen were ordered by the Central Government to receive the numberless ships from the North to supply weapons and ammunition to the Phu Yen battlefield and the provinces of Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa during the resistance war against the US to save the country. Vung Ro Wharf successfully received 3 numberless ships codenamed C41, commanded by Captain Ho Dac Thanh, supplying nearly 200 tons of weapons to the battlefield. The 4th ship, codenamed C143, commanded by Captain Le Van Them, after successfully docking and receiving the goods, but did not have time to return due to a broken anchor and had to camouflage the wharf, and was discovered by the enemy, leading to the tragic "Vung Ro incident". With the great historical significance of the Vung Ro numberless ship wharf, on June 18, 1997, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ) recognized this place as a National Historical Relic.
