On the afternoon of July 15 in Hanoi , the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) organized an award ceremony for two customers who won the highest prize of the Lotto 5/35 product. Notably, the two people who received the Vietlott jackpot prize did not wear masks. Among them, Mr. Do Quoc Dung in Dong Nai won a prize worth nearly 10 billion VND, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung won nearly 6.4 billion VND.

Why didn't the two Vietlott jackpot winners wear masks?

Vietlott said that according to the law, Vietlott lottery winners have the right to choose to reveal or keep their identities private. At the award ceremony on the afternoon of July 15, the two individuals who won the jackpot voluntarily revealed their identities and did not wear masks when receiving their prizes.

In addition, since both winning tickets were purchased over the phone, according to internal regulations, Vietlott Headquarters is responsible for organizing the award ceremony. Therefore, Vietlott invited the remaining winner in Dong Nai to Hanoi to receive the prize with the winner in Hanoi.

Received money and believed I won the lottery

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung said that he bought a Lotto 5/35 ticket during a break from working overtime. Previously, he had only won the highest Vietlott lottery ticket of VND30,000. Therefore, when Vietlott informed him that he had won nearly VND6.4 billion, he thought that someone was calling to scam him. It was only when he received a text message notifying him that the Lotto 5/35 jackpot prize had been deposited into his bank account that he was sure that he had really won the prize.

As for Mr. Do Quoc Dung, as soon as he received the winning information, he called the Vietlott hotline to check and was confirmed to have won the Lotto 5/35 jackpot worth nearly 10 billion VND. He shared that he was very lucky to win nearly 10 billion VND and would think about how to use the prize money appropriately.

Lotto 5/35 is a computerized lottery product that Vietlott has put into operation since June 29. This type of lottery has a total of 7 prize categories, in which the jackpot prize has a starting value of 6 billion VND and will continue to accumulate through the drawing periods if there is no winning ticket.

The new highlight of this product is that when the accumulated jackpot reaches 12 billion VND and there is still no winning ticket, Vietlott will distribute the prize in the drawing at 9:00 p.m. the next day. This form of prize distribution applies to winning tickets of the remaining prize categories (except for the consolation prize), issued in the same drawing period.
