History of confrontation between Vietnam and Laos national teams: Never lost

VOV.VN - The history of confrontations between the Vietnam and Laos national teams has witnessed the overwhelming number of victories of the "golden star warriors".

The match between Vietnam and Laos received attention as it was the opening match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team. To prepare for this match, Vietnam had a friendly match with Cambodia and achieved a fairly favorable result (won 2-1).

Since 1996, Vietnam has never lost to Laos in tournaments or friendly matches. After 14 meetings, Vietnam has won 13 times, only once drawing 1-1 at the AFF Cup 1996.

Of these, the Vietnam team had two biggest wins with a score of 9-0. That was the match at SEA Games 1998 and AFF Cup 2006.

Most recently, the Vietnam national team met the Laos national team away in the opening match of the AFF Cup 2024. Despite being away, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team did not encounter many difficulties to win 4-1, thereby creating momentum for the journey to win the tournament.

The match between Vietnam and Laos will take place at 7:30 p.m. on March 25.
