America is the country with the most rich people in the world with 724 billionaires. In Forbes ' list of the 10 richest people on the planet, the number of American billionaires "overwhelms" with a ratio of 9/10.

Billionaire Elon Musk is the richest person in the world, with a net worth of $240.7 billion. He is the CEO of several well-known companies, including electric car maker Tesla and space exploration company SpaceX.

The billionaire currently owns 23% of Tesla's shares. About two-thirds of his wealth is tied to Tesla's success.

The only non-American billionaire in Forbes ' Top 10 richest people on the planet is Bernard Arnault - the second richest person in the world with a net worth of about $231.4 billion.

Mr. Bernard Arnault is CEO and Chairman of France's Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), the world's largest luxury goods group with about 70 famous fashion and cosmetics brands such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Moet & Chandon and Sephora.

In January 2021, LVMH completed the acquisition of luxury jewelry company Tiffany & Co. for $15.8 billion.

Coming in third is Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $154.9 billion. In July 2021, Jeff Bezos decided to step down as CEO of e-commerce giant Amazon, while remaining as chairman.

In this list, Oracle's "boss", Larry Ellison and Microsoft founder Bill Gates ranked 4th and 5th, with net worth of 146.1 billion USD and 119.3 billion USD respectively.

Next is business and investment tycoon Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway, with a net worth of 117.4 billion USD; founder of Meta, owner of the famous Facebook social network Mark Zuckerberg (115.2 billion USD); two co-founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, hold assets of 111.9 billion USD and 106.2 billion USD respectively. At the bottom of the list is Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, with a net worth of 103.4 billion USD.

Previously, data from Bloomberg Billionaires Index also showed that the total net worth of the world's 500 richest people increased by 852 billion USD in the first half of this year. Each person on this list earned an average of 14 million USD/day in the past 6 months.

This is the best first half of the year for these billionaires since the second half of 2020, when the economy began to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the total assets of Russian billionaires have increased by 32 billion USD since the beginning of the year. There are about 22 Russian businessmen in the list of 500 billionaires compiled by Bloomberg .
