According to British press, MU only received about 6 million pounds in bonuses from UEFA after winning the Europa League runner-up position this year, while Tottenham pocketed nearly 11 million pounds thanks to the championship title.
Football Meets Data calculates Ruben Amorim's men will earn more than £30m in prize money in the Europa League this season, behind Tottenham (£38.2m).
Losing the Champions League ticket will cost MU a significant amount of revenue next season. Football finance expert Kieran Maguire said the "Red Devils" could earn more than 100 million pounds thanks to participating in Europe's most prestigious arena, including ticket sales, broadcasting rights and bonuses from sponsors.
Maguire estimates that if the Red Devils progress further in the Champions League, they could earn an additional £30m to £40m. This figure includes the revenue from the club's four home matches in the qualifying round.
Daily Mail reported that MU could announce a loss of up to 100 million pounds this financial year. The loss of revenue due to the absence of the Champions League has put the "Red Devils" in a difficult position. The team does not have much budget to buy players this summer. MU is forced to liquidate some players who are not in the plan to have more money to recruit new players.
Financial analysts predict that MU will continue to suffer a loss of £40m in the next quarter, pushing the total debt to £1bn.
