On August 26, the State Funeral Committee and the family of Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh expressed their gratitude.
The Funeral Committee and the family of Mr. Le Van Thanh would like to sincerely thank: Leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, revolutionary veterans...; representatives of agencies, departments, ministries, branches, organizations at the central and local levels, the people's armed forces, ambassadors of several countries and international organizations in Vietnam; news agencies, newspapers, radio, television; hometown people, neighbors, relatives, friends near and far who sent letters, telegrams of condolences, reported news, sent wreaths, came to visit, attend the memorial service, burial ceremony and farewell to comrade Le Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Party Committee of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister; former Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, former Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, former Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Council; National Assembly Delegate, 12th term; to his final resting place at his hometown cemetery in Tan Lien commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong city.

Earlier, on the same morning, at the Hai Phong City Convention Center, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the family solemnly held a memorial service and funeral for Mr. Le Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Government Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister according to the State Funeral ceremony.
Attending the funeral were Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Politburo member, former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Party Central Committee Secretary, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies; leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City, along with family and friends of Mr. Le Van Thanh.
In deep sorrow, Party Central Committee Secretary, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, Head of the State Funeral Committee, emotionally read the eulogy.
Mr. Le Van Thanh, born on October 20, 1962, in Tan Lien commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong city, promoting the patriotic tradition of his family and hometown, Mr. Le Van Thanh actively studied, worked and devoted himself to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Mr. Le Van Thanh is a member of the Party Central Committee of the 12th and 13th terms, a member of the Party Central Committee of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister; former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Phong City; and a delegate of the 12th National Assembly.
After a period of serious illness, despite the devoted care and treatment of the Party, the State, a group of professors, doctors and his family, due to serious illness, he passed away at 8:20 p.m. on August 22, 2023 (July 7, Quy Mao year) at his private home at 217 Lach Tray Street, Ngo Quyen District, at the age of 61. His passing is a great loss to the Party, the State, our people and his family.
