Integrating propaganda about unemployment insurance, raising awareness for workers

The combination of propaganda activities on unemployment insurance (UI) with propaganda activities on legal policies has contributed to raising awareness of employees and employers about UI policies.

Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Hue - Head of Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Labor Training Support Department - Vinh Phuc Provincial Employment Service Center said that in 2022, the dissemination of unemployment insurance policies in Vinh Phuc will be organized regularly through consulting conferences, periodic job exchange activities and mobile sessions in communes, wards, vocational schools, Continuing Education and Vocational Education Centers in the province, banners, leaflets, mass media, websites, zalo, fanpages...

The combination of propaganda activities on unemployment insurance with propaganda activities on legal policies has contributed to raising awareness of employees and employers about unemployment insurance policies.

The propaganda work in recent times has been effective, the number of enterprises and employees participating in unemployment insurance is increasing; the number of employed employees coming to notify and terminate unemployment benefits according to regulations has increased, the number of employees having to collect unemployment insurance money has also been significantly reduced.

Workers apply for unemployment insurance benefits

According to the report of Vinh Phuc Provincial Employment Service Center, as of December 31, 2022, the whole province had 233,723 people participating in social insurance. Of which, 225,640 people with labor contracts and work contracts participated in unemployment insurance. The total number of people applying for unemployment benefits was 11,042 people.

Of these, 10,584 people had decisions to receive unemployment benefits, 87 people were not eligible for unemployment benefits, 169 people had their decisions to receive unemployment benefits revoked, and 24 people moved their unemployment benefits to another locality.

In addition, the number of people who temporarily stopped receiving unemployment benefits was 366, 127 people continued to receive unemployment benefits, 8,453 people stopped receiving unemployment benefits, 398 people had decisions on vocational training support, 28,184 people were consulted and introduced to jobs. The amount of money paid for unemployment benefits and vocational training support was more than 212 billion VND; of which the amount of vocational training support for people receiving unemployment benefits was more than 1.9 billion VND.

Currently, Vinh Phuc Provincial Employment Service Center is continuing to coordinate with the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board and relevant agencies to closely monitor the production and business situation at enterprises in the area, do a good job of forecasting the production situation and labor recruitment needs to expand the supply-demand connection channel, and support enterprises in recruiting workers.

Regarding the implementation of unemployment insurance policy in the coming time, Ms. Hue said that propaganda still needs to be carried out regularly and in depth so that the community, employers and employees have a deeper awareness of unemployment insurance policy, so that unemployment insurance policy can truly become the main tool for managing the labor market.

In order for the unemployment insurance policy to play a pivotal role in ensuring social security, helping workers overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives, according to Ms. Hue, in the coming time, it is necessary to focus on further promoting information, propaganda and dissemination of changes in the unemployment insurance policy to employers and workers. Continue to train and improve professional skills, regularly update new documents, and promote the application of information technology for officials working on resolving unemployment insurance policies.

At the same time, the unemployment insurance management software system needs to be upgraded synchronously throughout the system to support the reception, management, monitoring, updating data and synthesizing reporting data on the implementation of unemployment insurance policies quickly, promptly and accurately. In the coming time, the Vinh Phuc Provincial Employment Service Center will report to the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs to propose the Department of Employment to upgrade and repair the unemployment insurance management software system synchronously throughout the system to support the reception, management, monitoring, updating data and synthesizing reporting data on the implementation of unemployment insurance policies quickly, accurately and promptly.

Along with that, the Center will also organize professional training courses and skills training courses for staff performing unemployment insurance work. Strengthening facilities and techniques to serve more effectively in professional activities.
