Pac Nga is located in an area frequently affected by floods and storms, with a large area, complex terrain, and many steep streams. Since mid-June, heavy rains have caused flooding, landslides, and damage to people's houses and agricultural production. The commune has proactively developed a plan to respond to natural disasters, focusing on implementing the "4 on-site" motto, building up the force and effectively promoting the role of the militia.
Mr. Cam Van Ngam, Commander of Pac Nga Commune Military Command, said: With the motto of "proactively preventing, promptly responding, urgently and effectively overcoming all natural disaster situations", the Commune Military Command has proactively developed a plan for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue in the area. Regularly check the water level in streams to advise local Party committees and authorities on flood response preparation plans. Proactively grasp information on weather reports, mass media, promptly inform people about storms and floods through the loudspeaker system of the commune, village and directly to households in dangerous areas, mobilizing them to move to safety.
At the same time, focus on reviewing and preparing means and conditions to ensure effective response when natural disasters and floods occur. Direct the regular militia and the militia of the villages to stay close to the area and respond quickly, not to be passive or surprised in any situation. Strictly maintain the on-call regime, especially during the peak of the rainy and stormy season, when natural disasters occur, mobilize the militia to directly rescue people, protect state assets, help people reinforce their houses, evacuate people and assets to safe areas; ensure logistics and organize forces to overcome consequences, stabilize people's lives and production...
Since the beginning of the year, the commune has mobilized over 120 militiamen, supporting over 200 working days to help people rebuild their houses and harvest agricultural products. In Pac Nga, Na Sai and Buoc villages, the militia forces have actively participated in cleaning up roads and residential areas, clearing away stagnant mud, cutting down large fallen trees, and clearing traffic jams on many intra-village and inter-village roads.
The recent rain caused a landslide from the positive slope into the house under construction of Ms. Lo Thi San's family in Van village. The commune militia actively supported her family in clearing the rocks and soil and encouraged her family to temporarily stop construction to reinforce the embankment behind the house. Ms. San shared: Thanks to the commune militia and the villagers' timely support, my family was able to clear the rocks and soil and move the construction materials to a safe place.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Chairman of Pac Nga Commune People's Committee, said: The local Party Committee and government always highly appreciate the contribution of the militia force in ensuring political security and social order and safety in the area, especially in preventing and fighting natural disasters, ready to respond to all possible situations.
Proactively and flexibly coordinating with other forces to handle urgent and effective situations, the Pac Nga commune militia force has promoted its role as the core force in preventing and fighting natural disasters in the locality according to the motto "4 on-site", being a solid support for the people.
