Lao and Cambodian students compete in Vietnamese speech contest about President Ho Chi Minh

On May 17, Friendship School 80 (Son Tay town, Hanoi city) organized a Vietnamese speech contest for Lao and Cambodian students with the theme "Uncle Ho - an immense love", celebrating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025). The contest aims to help international students understand more deeply about the life, ideology, morality and simple but great lifestyle of Uncle Ho. This is also a useful playground, contributing to fostering love for the Vietnamese language, strengthening solidarity among the youth of the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.

The competition had 14 teams representing 14 classes of international students. The teams went through two rounds: greeting and speaking. Each team brought profound content and rich forms of expression such as: presentations, poetry recitation, storytelling, singing, dancing, chanting, etc.

According to the Organizing Committee, 14 teams successfully conveyed their love, gratitude and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh. All performances were presented in Vietnamese, combining dramatization, images, music and genuine emotions. The meaningful stories and slices of President Ho Chi Minh's life, career, ideology and personality were presented by the students in a simple but touching way.

As a result, the international student teams of class A6 and class A3 won first prize with outstanding performances in terms of content, emotion and language skills.

A highlight of the program was the game for the audience, with questions about the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh . The contest attracted enthusiastic participation from international students, creating a lively and cohesive atmosphere.

Speaking at the contest, Ms. Chu Kim Phuong, Principal of Friendship School 80, highly appreciated the efforts of the teachers of the Vietnamese Language Department and all students. She hoped that the international students would continue to study well, achieve high results in the upcoming graduation exam and become "cultural bridges", fostering the special friendship between the three countries of Laos - Vietnam - Cambodia.
