On the afternoon of February 25, in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Amirah had a meeting with the press and travel bloggers to share her future plans. She expressed her honor at being appointed and highly appreciated the dynamism and friendliness of the country and people of Vietnam.
In 2024, Malaysia made a strong impression in its promotional activities in Vietnam, contributing to the number of 330,189 Vietnamese tourists to Malaysia. Air connectivity between the two countries was also expanded with flights operated by Malaysia Airlines, Vietjet and AirAsia. Direct flights from Da Nang, Hanoi and Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu help Vietnamese tourists easily access unique travel experiences in Malaysia. In addition, the Tourism Malaysia Promotion Board also strengthens cooperation with travel agencies and tourism partners to organize promotional events and introduce preferential travel packages.
In 2024, "Malaysia travel" became a search trend for Vietnamese tourists on Google, which made Ms. Amirah Nadiah Mazlan very grateful.

In 2025, Tourism Malaysia aims to attract 489,000 Vietnamese tourists. Malaysia will launch promotional campaigns targeting specific tourist groups such as family tourism, youth tourism, eco-tourism and shopping.
The year 2025 marks the official launch of the national campaign Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) with the Malayan sun bear as its mascot. This is a symbol of Malaysia's commitment to nature conservation and helps to make the country's tourism image more familiar to international visitors.

The VM2026 campaign, launched by Prime Minister YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to attract 35.6 million international tourists, generate revenue of RM147.1 billion (US$32.5 billion), and enhance Malaysia's competitive position in the international tourism market.
