Bringing 'Vietnamese Doctors' Day' to African hospitals

(Dan Tri) - The Vietnamese "blue beret" engineering team visited and presented gifts to medical facilities in Abyei (Africa) on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27.
On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day, the Vietnamese Engineering Team in Abyei (Africa) met and presented gifts and antibiotics to Abyei Hospital and Hospital Without Borders. The Engineering Team also met and presented gifts to Mr. Deng Arop De. Mading, Minister of Health of Abyei Special Administrative Region.

At the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Viet Hung, Captain of the Vietnam Engineer Team, explained the significance of Vietnam Doctors' Day and wished the Minister of Health and the health system in Abyei to develop further, meeting the medical needs of the local people. Mr. Deng Arop De. Mading thanked the Vietnam Engineer Team for their support in building the road to Abyei Hospital and organizing 3 rounds of free medical examinations and medicine distribution for government officials and local people. He also expressed his hope that in the future, the Vietnam Engineer Team will continue to support the health system in particular and the people of Abyei in general.

Earlier, on the afternoon of February 26, the Vietnamese Engineering Corps also visited and presented gifts to the medical facilities of the UNISFA Mission, including Ghana's Level 2 Field Hospital and Level 1 Field Hospital. Major Nguyen Mau Vu, Political Commissar of the Vietnamese Engineering Corps, said that Vietnamese Doctors' Day was also an opportunity to express admiration for the doctors and nurses working in Abyei. "People from all over the world have gathered here to support and help this land that is still facing many difficulties and poverty," he said.
