Nghe An An 11 year old boy fell onto broken glass while playing and had a piece of glass stuck in his knee for over a year, but he and his family did not know.
The baby was admitted to Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital with a swollen right knee, unable to sit down, and limited movement of the right leg. MRI results showed a foreign object in the knee, penetrating the joint capsule into the middle of the knee, with surrounding bruising. The patient was diagnosed with a foreign object after a knee injury, and the doctor recommended surgery.
The surgical team operated on the patient's knee and removed a triangular piece of broken glass, measuring 2.5 x 1.5 cm. The patient was discharged today, in stable health.

According to family members, in August 2022, while playing, the boy accidentally fell on a broken glass. After the accident, his parents took him to a medical facility in Vinh City to have the wound stitched, not knowing there was a foreign object.
Doctors recommend that when you have an accident and have a dirty wound with mud or foreign objects stuck in it, you need to go to a medical facility to clean the wound properly. If there is a foreign object in the wound, remove it to avoid complications such as infection, abscess, and prolonged pain.
