Compared to the version currently on the market, the VinFast VF9 facelift version has many design changes: LED strip lights stretching across the entire front of the car, new vertical grille, redesigned LED headlights, and refined front and rear bumpers and aerodynamic wheels. Notably, the new design of the Vinfast VF9 2026 is likely to be done by GoMotiv - an Australian design studio and long-time partner of VinFast.
With a length of 5,119 mm, width of 2,004 mm, height of 1,691 mm and wheelbase of 3,148 mm, VF9 is superior in size compared to competitors such as Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 or Volvo EX90, promising spacious interior space. This electric SUV currently uses a dual-motor electric drive system, with a capacity of 300kW and a torque of 620Nm, allowing for acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 6.6 seconds – quite impressive for a vehicle weighing nearly 2.9 tons. Users can choose between two battery versions, 97kWh and 123kWh, with operating ranges of 437km and 594km respectively (WLTP standard). Both support 160kW DC fast charging and 11kW AC charging.
VinFast has not yet announced the official launch date of the VF9 in Australia. However, observers expect the company to announce the information before the end of this year, after the facelift version is introduced. Previously, in June 2025 - a mysterious VinFast car was repeatedly caught while being tested on the streets of Vietnam. Until now, this car has been revealed more clearly and quickly attracted public attention. It is very likely that this is the special version of the VinFast VF9 2026 electric car that will soon be launched in Vietnam. The reason is because the car comes with many metallic gold exterior details, similar to previous special versions of VinFast such as the Unique Fire Dragon.
Specific information about this model is still kept secret. Previously, VinFast posted a short video revealing the launch of the new VF9 in Vietnam. This special version is expected to have a higher price than the VinFast VF9 Plus currently on the market. Video: Review of Vinfast VF9 after 1 year of use.
