Is a 40,000 VND shaver good?

Many users report that super cheap shavers often have thin plastic shells, weak motors, and lack control buttons.

On e-commerce platforms, mini shavers priced at only about 40,000 VND are being sold everywhere. The advertisements of the shops often promise “close shave, skin protection, sharp blades, compact and convenient”, making many consumers curious and deciding to try. However, the actual experience with these machines often leaves users disappointed.

Mr. Duy Khanh ( Hanoi ) said: “I bought a cheap shaver to use on business trips. When I first used it, I found it light and compact, but after just a few strokes, there were still some beards left. The machine vibrates weakly, shaves unevenly, and after a few minutes of holding it, my hand felt a bit hot, forcing me to stop.”

Many other users also reported that super cheap shavers often have thin plastic shells, weak motors, and lack of control buttons. Some products only work when plugged in, making the shaving experience less smooth and potentially posing a risk of electric shock or skin abrasion.

According to Mr. Tuan Minh, a genuine home appliance salesman in Hanoi, said: “A quality shaver needs a stable engine, sharp blades, and safe insulation. Machines that cost tens of thousands of dong almost do not meet any electrical and mechanical standards. If used for a long time, the risk of electric shock, skin scratches or machine damage is very high.”

In addition, many machines advertised as “super sharp, skin protection” are actually just advertising gimmicks. Some products use fake blades and shiny metallic colors to deceive consumers. The functions of “close shaving, pain relief, skin protection” are almost ineffective, and the machine’s lifespan is also very short, forcing users to buy new ones many times.

Shavers are electrical devices that come into direct contact with the skin of the face, often used in humid environments. If the quality is poor, the risk of electrical short circuits, thermal burns or skin scratches is very high. Consumer experts recommend that users should invest in shavers from 200,000 VND or more, choose products with clear brands, safety inspections and warranty policies.
